In spite of the fact that it is significantly smaller than the central library, Ferryhill library offers an excellent range of resources for a bargain price. They have computers with internet access which are free if you have a library card, a decent selection of books including local interest, fiction, nonfiction and children's books. They have audio tapes and large print books and you can borrow a selection of dvd's and cd's for a very reasonably price. The librarians are extremely helpful and knowledgeable and it is always peaceful. There are spaces where you can sit to read as well. read more

I have recently moved to Ferryhill and joined the library which I really like I think its a good place with a good selection of books and items as far as the staff go they all seem very pleasant and helped me to use one of the computers when my own printer at home was broken, I am intrigued by previous reviewer of paedophiles using the library and wonder on what basis this opinion has been given?? Personally I would encourage everyone to use the library in the light of all these cuts, use it or lose it as prevous reviewer says. Anyway, Im off to change my books ! read more
