A stunningly beautiful resort on the east coast of Mallorca. Immaculate well spread out grounds…read morewith a wide selection of high-end amenities (3 swimming pools, a private beach overlooking an inlet of the Mediterranean Sea, several tennis courts, and plenty of areas to just lounge and relax. The complex is massive...though you can walk between buildings (there are a dozen or so), it's much easier to travel by the resort's gold carts. Rooms are spacious and spotlessly clean, mine had a large balcony overlooking the grounds. There is high-speed Internet in the room though I would have preferred it to be wireless (they do lend you a cable); there is free wifi in the lobby. My only other issue was that iron and ironing boards don't come standard, you have to request to borrow one. The resort is rated 5 stars but this is largely due to the endless amenities and features than to the quality (which is more 3 or 4 star worthy). Location is picturesque but quite far from Palma and the airport---expect a 1 hour + taxi ride and a 60 euro fare. Nearby Porto Petro village has a few restaurants and bars but is quite small. If you come to the Blau expect to spend most of your time at the resort which is not necessarily a bad thing.

I prefer to be served but the lines for food is so long and such an international clientele that it is probably the best way for them to go. We walked to town and it was not peak season so not crowded. The harbour town gives you some Spanish flavour but you need a car to explore the island --- or just stay and relax in the resort. It feels like a cruise ship experience. Many pools. One pool is warm Much walking. It is €89 to Palma or 1 1/2 hr bus ride. Things to see there. Only relax or walk at resort. There are yoga classes in a schedule. There are bikes or kayaks that are part of the fee to use. But no laundromats to be had. The resort charges a fortune to wash your clothes, so just hand wash and dry in the clothesline in the bath. The spa is part of your fee too and it is really nice. We did drive to Santanyi for market day on Weds. 8-1pm and it was a treat. But at the resort, just relax. If you want to be a tourist, stay in Palma or up North. Too bad the wifi is so sketchy. Seems no one here bothers with yelp so many things are not listed nor reviewed here. People want to keep it their little secret? It is mostly Germans here and their kids. I am sure the peak season is a madhouse. But we were a conference so it was ok for us. The yoga was done in 4 languages....pretty amazing teacher. There is an app you can download to get the most current events, the sheets at the reception are generally off a day or two. I walked out to the lighthouse and that is worth doing for the views. Breakfast buffet is included in your room-- although no one told us, and they will make eggs to order and everything you can imagine is there to eat. So you have to be bold and explore a bit. At least they have an adult pool when the kids screams drive you wild. The beds around the pool are dreamy.

When going somewhere new we always do a lot of research. In Europe in the summer we definitely need a good AC system. We also much rather stay at a local hotel vs a huge group (not that there is anything wrong with that). When doing research we almost stayed in the Maaloof are which is good if your going to go drinking and clubbing but with 2 kids its not for us. I then looked into smaller towns and being on a nice beach is a must! So I somehow came across the Introutel group and of those hotels found the Esmeralda Park. It was about to be fully remodeled and that was important to us also. We booked a ocean front suite which was perfect of the 4 of us and looked exactly like the renderings! I think we were the first people in the room and the hotel overall was amazing! The pools were great, Dragoland (the kids water park) was great, the restaurants were great and although the hotel was crowded it never felt that way. Its well laid out and the staff really run it well! It was about a hour south of Palma, but easy to get to. You can also walk to town for a million good restaurants. I would highly recommend it for family vacations!

There's a little alcove bay and it's a lovely sight if you're sitting on the restaurant bar with terrace. It's very full of families during the summer and they mostly hang out at the beach and pools throughout the day. The terrace bar is great to have a glass of beer. Relatively inexpensive and the food is not great, but decent! The morning breakfast buffet was way above my expectations. It's seriously comparable to a Vegas breakfast buffet. You can stuff yourself silly and it will last you throughout the day. Who needs lunch? We had the breakfast every day of our stay. Definitely a thumbs up! Rooms are suite style with balcony and kitchenette. It's clean and we had an updated suite in the J building. A bit far from the center of the hotel but it was nicely renovated. There is free parking for guests. I do recommend that you take the bus from the airport to the hotel. You honestly don't need a car here b/c everything is just walkable. Definitely recommended for families!

Some certainly made the hotel a great improvement on a day when it was served great Spanish food. But overall, the food was a huge disappointment. Furthermore, if you prefer a hotel where the hotel staff do not detest their customers - avoid this hotel. Bartenders who can not smile, reception who think that the guests causes problems, charges for everything (Iron 10 euro - and if you need a board, please pay an additional 3 euro - that's laughable) We lived in three room, two beds made up, the third bed we embed ourselves. The room was not cleaned every day, only two sets of towels and glasses were handed out (glass not changed during the week., I can go on forever with weirdness mojito from a tap tasting chemicals and so on. There is no doubt that those who govern over the hotel staff have lost all interest in the hotel business a long time ago.

The hotel is around a mile from a decent club, 15 min walk from the beach. 2 minutes walk to the hotel restaurant. The animation team are FANTASTIC.. they are very energetic and the pool games and entertainment was great! The room we stayed in had just been refurbished, so the room was very nice! Food is offered all day everyday from main meals to general snacks. The food is also very good. Remember this is a 3 star hotel so if you want 5 star food don't go all inclusive! A side note; the only thing I could be negative about is the fact there is no aircon in the rooms, but if you keep all the doors open it's not too bad! P.s girls, if you want your hair braided, go to Umi. She's great a does a good job!! Overall very impressed with this hotel!
