Ferrell Gas is a terrible company. They increased my tank rental fee from $45 a year to $500 a year, an outrageous increase. They said the increase was because I don't fill my tank often enough, which is disgusting and shameful that they're punishing people for not being wasteful enough. I just spent two weeks chasing these guys for the cost of burying a propane tank, having been initially told they offer this service in Joshua Tree. Despite numerous calls, I never heard back from the supposed area representative, Reginald Coldwell (spelling uncertain). After persistent efforts, I was finally informed that, in fact, they don't bury tanks. These guys are as useful as a chocolate teapot! Save yourself time and frustration and opt for High Desert Propane for your propane needs. They'll be getting my business after this unpleasant experience with Ferrell Gas. read more

Here is my impression of this company. They do not care about people. They do care however about money. We gave them hundreds of dollars and they told us it would be 2 weeks before they would be out. This is because they wanted more money to come out sooner .... in which we would not give them. So a few days later they showed up at 6 am. Only to not be able to get us hot water after all as he didn't bother to read the directions on the water tank and would not light it ...... but at least we got propane. Horrible customer service! I asked them to fill my tank and they told me it would take maybe a week, week passes I call again, they say they'll try in a few days, nothing. Finally I say, my tank is literally empty, I have tennants in the house and I really don't want them to run out. Finally this nice woman says, "you are on the route today, they will fill the tank." Then a few days later, my tenant calls to say the stove doesn't work. So they never came by to fill the tank and it literally went empty. My tenant had to wait a day for them to really come by. I switched to a local propane company and will soon replace all gas in my house and go heat pump for heating/cooling, heat pump water heating and induction electric stove. I'm over supporting fossil fuel companies that are way more expensive then being all electric! read more

Zero gas for 10 days. Zero stars. There is no zero star rating, but that is what zero service deserves. I have not been able to shower or wash clothes, and have no heat in my home, no propane. Called at 20%, called at 10%, called at 0%. Thanks, FerrellNOgas. read more

Customer service does not exist with this company. Two times in one week I had a schedule delivery. Both were no-shows. I waited home all day. No phone calls and no customer service. When they installed my gas tank two years ago, it was faulty. I had a major gas leak from a faulty release valve. It took 48 hours for them to come to my house and fix the problem.Terrible company I'm switching as soon as I can. read more

Customer service is terrible! I called customer service every day (5 days straight, sometimes twice in one day) and each day customer service said we were on the schedule for that day's delivery. One rep indicated the driver would run out of propane before they could make our delivery for that day. Customer service was RUDE! Finally, after the 6th attempt our driver Joe make a special trip to come out late at night to fill our tank. He was great! Customer service should take lessons from JOE! read more

Not something I normally put out but I am very frustrated with Ferrellgas. This company promised my propane delivery for 2 different days and never delivered. I have called 4 times now to complain and now they are picking up the tank. This is not the first time with them it is everytime. I never get delivery when promised. Poor customer service too they say they will talk to management and call back and never call back. Do not get ferrel gas. They will not only not fix their tanks with a broken gauge that sticks at 15% so you run out thinking you are good but if you request to be called because you lock your gate. They will just drive by. Three times un two weeks. Will also promise to bring by 10 gallons so family can have hot showers and never do it. When you finally have enough of the bs and purchase your own tank because tank is stuck at 15% again because they did not fix. The woman argues and says its not in her notes. So then am told tank pick up is the 13th. Today 2 weeks early they come and call twice!! Then take the regulator and even the blocks with no proof they own anything but the tank. Didnt even put new tank in old spot. Nothing good about this company. Beware. If you have to deal with them I am sorry. Buy a tank. Rude, rude, rude. read more

I would not use this company they were good while I lived there but canceling your account is impossible. I have called several times to cancel this account and when I have done so I have gotten different answers on weather or not I get refunded the money for the propane or if they will remove the tank all of which doesn't matter so much because I have moved out. However they charged me 45 dollars for something (cancellation fee?) but have not sent me any bills or emails or calls but are just running me over 60 days past due on this charge where I did not order any propane. I hope this matter gets taken care of its annoying because I have called months ago closing the account twice and thought it was over but charging people on a closed account is frustrating to say the least I would choose another gas company than deal with this! read more

I worked for this company back east in North Carolina. It's a great company. The local shop is alright.
