What a team! I was at the Seligman General Store filling propane tanks when Cassie from Ferrell Gas showed up to refill the Ferrell Gas tank at the Seligman General Store. Shared with Cassie my need for a propane tank and propane to run my Generac to refill my lithium batteries when the sun isn't shining. She immediately gave me the contact information for John and told me if we did do so something she would be the driver servicing my Ferrell Gas Account. Was very impressed with the prompt response from John. He was very informative and understood my needs and gave me a quote for a solution. Today the last Ferrell Gas team member, Scott, just left my property. He showed this morning ready for the install and a "can do" attitude about to how to make the install work best for me. I appreciated Scott's patience in making sure everything including the generator was operational before leaving the property, So very pleased with the whole process and Ferrell Gas team I just asked John for another quote for another propane tank or two to do other things on the property. read more

I had a gas leak with the on/off valve on my propane tank. I called Ferrellgas first thing in the morning on Friday 11/8 and they responded within a couple of hours as they were located about 95 miles from my location. The tech that responded was Aaron Maxwell and he was outstanding in his knowledge and efficiency in getting the problem resolved. The person who took the call (I don't recall her name) was also excellent and very customer service oriented. read more

We have never lived in a home that uses propane for anything, let alone for whole-home heating. On Tuesday night our tank apparently ran to 0% so we called the after-hours number, and paid SIX HUNDRED AND TWENTY FIVE DOLLARS for a half-tank emergency fill... which ended up happening at 5pm the next day. Meanwhile, temperatures got down to below 20 degrees that night. So the delivery guy shows up, half-fills the tank, then red-tags it claiming a slow leak. Now we have paid $625 and STILL cannot heat our home, with two small children inside shivering because our house is 53 degrees. Then it's Wednesday and our home is freezing and dangerous. Now it's Friday afternoon and they STILL won't send someone out to inspect THEIR leak on THEIR leased tank!!!! Y'all, RUN FROM THIS COMPANY! We are hiring an attorney now. read more

ly opened our gates, came onto our property and took their tank. By the way, there is a $125 charge to cancel service (they charge the fee for tank pickup). After taxes and fees, the charge ends up being $134.99. They charge more per gallon for propane than competitors, and they have so many fees on their bills it's ridiculous. The last increase in fees (not the propane rate) was over 35%, and no warning it was coming. When we called, they offered no real explanation; just it is what it is, costs went up, blah blah blah. So glad we finally cut the cord and went with another provider with reasonable prices and better customer service. Their propane rates are considerably lower, they do not even have most of the "fees" on the Ferrellgas bills, and they are available to fill our tank with a week's notice (Ferrellgas requires two weeks for everything). Last but not least, a big part of our decision to switch companies was that the tank was empty every few months toward the end; whereas prior years it took several months between fillups. We had it checked, no leaks, but no increase in use. We suspect something was going on, but didn't waste anymore time dealing with this unscrupulous company. read more

The delivery service and follow-up with customer service have been poor since I opened my account in 2007. I've had to chase down billing, and follow-up on promised fill dates that didn't happen. Now, the last straw is the tank was not filled and needed a leak test. I was not notified (my contact info hasn't changed). I was charged for the rental of the tank regardless, understanding that the issue prompting a red tag could be a leaking pipe, not the tank. I only found out because I was following up, once again, on how much propane was delivered and why I hadn't received my receipt (another issue - they don't like to mail receipts to you). The representative, Michelle, admits they dropped the ball. I see this as the perfect time to switch to AmeriGas. I don't have confidence in Ferrell to provide service for my (part-time) home in Fort Mohave. I'm letting others know there are options - Ferrell is not the only propane company for the river cities! read more
