1/15/17 update: Alan Feit, a principal with the company, contacted me and wanted to make good on my bad experience. He did. He sent me [what appears to be] a [Costco style] three flashlight assortment. Pix attached. It is so nice, I'm not going to open it, and will re-gift it later. Thank you for following through with this. I am generously updating 'star rating' to four (from one). Here's why: 1. Now that Feit has discovered social media, I think things will improve; product AQL will rise and customers will be happier. It has to in this saturated market. It really has to. The plethora of no-name brands currently available should be no match for an established [nearly] household name like Feit. Feit has been in Home Depot and Costco as long as I can remember, and those stores really do monitor quality and returns. 2. Even though Feit sent me new replacement flashlights (which I admittedly did not open to inspect), their construction appears to be identical with the old ones. The old ones had several cost savings measures (no spring contacts at + and - battery terminals) that impede durability. If these lights get dropped, the inertia from 3X C-cells will directly push on the lamp module, or the marginal end cap button, deforming the battery negative terminal. The Duracell I got at Costco over a year before I bought the Feit's had double sprung contacts, as do most modern quality LED lights. Attached pix tell the tale. The spring-less design would be fine as a car flashlight or for an average homeowner (infrequent gentle use). Alkaline powered lights, like these, are preferred for infrequent use because they lack the self discharge properties of LiOH type cells, and require no charger. Just remember to change cells every year or two, to mitigate leakage issues. 1/12/17 update: Alan Feit, a company namesake, reached out to me via Yelp message. I responded, and will update with resolution. Original review: Worst POS lights I've ever bought. 50% DOA. Other ones intermittent. So, I've tried Feit lamps in the past, starting when CCFL's came out. I had a horrible success rate with them; short life, several DOAs, but the most disturbing thing was that the plastic base started to burn. These were mounted open upright and not enclosed. This past May, while travelling, I bought two Feit LED flashlights (will attach pix). Found them on sale at Harris Teeter (a supermarket in VA). Two weeks later, when I got back to CA to try them, found that one is DOA, and the other so intermittent that it changes modes whenever it is handled. $40 wasted. The problem with the working one turns out that they were so cheap on the battery contact springs (actually only one, and very limited travel) that the batteries do not make good contact. I'm using Duracells, not Chinese cells. I gambled and lost. Never buying Feit again, and warning extended family. read more

Horrible customer service. I called and waited 15 minutes only to hear a voice message that I they cannot take my call now and to leave a message. Then I tried chat which was even worse. I explained that after an power outage, 3 of my 9 Feit smart devices were difficult to reconnect to wi-fi and when they did, I could not find them in my in my Alexa App. I found out later that even though I change the name of the light the device controlled, the name was changed back to Smart Plug 1, etc. During the chat, I was confused, and A. Torres was trying to lead the way, but what he said did not match what my iPhone was indicating, so he ended the chat. I started chat again, and A. Torres was in bad mood and when I asked why he ended the chat, he stated, "BECAUSE YOUR WASTING MY TIME. I'M TRYING TO HELP YOU AND ALL YOU DO IS COMPLAIN." I told him it was his job! I was not complaining at all. He really did not understand that 6 devices where fine and 3 were not. All he could say was that I was using a trial version of the app and that my devices where not linked to the Feit account!! So he abruptly ended the chat again. For 2 years and all was OK. I was linked to their account and when I tried again, I told him it said I already have an account. He did not understand that 6 where fine and 3 were not and that I did have an account. On a good note, I had a problem installing a 3 way dimmer switch about a year ago. The customer service rep at that time was excellent and helped me and even set me a new pair of switches for my problems. I have many other Feit products, but this guys attitude was not a good representation for the Feit brand. If it continues from what I see here, Costco will stop selling their products. Purchased (2) Feit LED 10 pack, 60w Replacement LED bulb packages from Costco. Out of 20 LED bulbs, 8 of them have failed within 3 weeks. A 40% failure rate isn't good. Reached out to Feit, via info@feit.com, haven't received a response. I hope they respond as quickly as their product failed. I would not recommend this product. read more

I bought Feit LED 1090268 9.5w for a daylight 60w replacement 10 pack at Costco. I wrote the date (7/16/2017) I installed them expecting, in my old age, to read that date again 2030 in total amazement, when that bulb needed to be started blinking 2 months later I took apart the wall scones the were in and traced back the wiring to see I I could find an intermittent. When I could not find one I replace the light bulb with different brand. They seem to be working now. It seem I am not the only person with this problem. Feit electric STANDS BY their products. I had an issue with LED bulbs and sent all information (including receipt) via email to their customer service. Without ANY additional effort, I was responded to (albeit in a bit of time, but that didn't matter to me), and replacement bulbs were sent. I am so impressed with them I had to review. The company makes preposterous claims about its LEDs. I bought a bunch, and am finding that they last less than six months before a death spiral of flickering and then failure. I bought 8 4' LED replacement bulbs from Costco for the fluorescent lights in my garage and they are much brighter and love the light. But after a while each fixture will turn off but later turn back on. I believe they are getting hot and turn off then cool down and turn back on. I called Feit and they said I need to take each fixture apart and see if the ballast is compatible as seen on the Feit website. None of this was pointed out when I bought them. This is so frustrating at this point. Just going to take them all back to Costco but now I have to buy new fluorescent bulbs as I put the old ones in the trash. read more

Anderson Torres (Feit customer service) replied that he would not help me until I sent him a video of myself - yes, a VIDEO of myself - describing the problem. At Costco, I bought some of the 4-pack boxes of Feit 9.5 watt replacement bulbs for my 60 watt light bulbs. All are failing after only a couple months of use. Terrible product. What a joke. read more

I had a flashlight that lost its lens, O-ring and retaining screw while riding on my ATV. Contacted the company via email and to my immediate surprise got a response asking me the exact model and that replacements would be forth coming. I contacted them to see how much and they said N/C. It's a rare thing nowadays to have a company backup their products even knowing it was probably because of my own inattention. Thanks Feit! read more

CRAP! I purchased their 60 watt LED bulbs from Costco less than a year ago. Every bulb in my house has been replaced with these Feit bulbs. They are failing right and left. It's a joke. I also just installed 36 FEIT High Hat retrofit kits. I'm praying that these are better than the other crap bulbs that I bought. Costco is still selling this brand. Shame on them. GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE!!! I bought Feit Electrics outdoor, LED light string at Costco before Christmas. About a month ago we were having trouble getting the remote to work. Test coin battery in the remote. It was good. Tried a new battery any way. Still no remote control. I sent a message through their website asking what my options were. I did not get back instructions or steps I needed to take. Instead I got an email that said a new remote was in the mail. No questions. No forms. No proof of purchase. The new remote works perfectly, and we are back to enjoying the great ambiance these light give us on our garden patio. read more

I purchased 18 2 packs of the 120 watt 1250 Lumens from Costco. Within a year 15 of the lights have burned out. Costco will replace, but you must keep the boxes. I have e-mailed the company asking them if this is a defect or maybe I have an electrical problem. They have never responded. absolutely the stupidest thing i have ever dealt with. i bought the smart wifi bulb to use in my video editing room at home that i just designed and one for my front porch so i can change the color to help make it easier for guest to find the right house. i spent 3 hours playing with this thing to try to get it to connect. it uses 2.4ghz while 99% of wifi internet uses 5 ghz. first why this company doesn't design these to use 5ghz is the strangest thing. So after speaking with my internet provider and their service people. They said the products app should allow us to change the connection. Why it doesn't is crazy. They tried to help for about 45 mins. I know that they have some sense, i know the service tech personally. Then i went to You Tube University. so after watching numerous you tube videos, walking out to the street about 10 times like an idiot i took the bulb smashed it with a sledge hammer and tossed in the trash. I will never in my life buy anything again from this company. I will tell everyone I ever see in the stores looking at them that they are crap and they might as well take their money and toss it in the parking lot, it will go to a better cause. take some of the millions you make and design a product that doesn't screw over consumers. People spend their hard earned money making you millions so that we can go to a store, buy a bulb that we really want. Then can come home, put the bulb in, download your app, and simply connect to the product that we were so excited to buy and put in our home. Only to be hit with nothing but problems. if it worked fine, i probably would have added to all my lights inside and outside. but NOT!!!!! I simply went on amazon and bought a blue light bulb. So when it gets here, I can screw it in. Turn on the switch and what will you know. It will actually work. So being that I work in the network TV news business, I think this might make a great consumer alert/scam story. Have to see how it goes in the morning meeting Monday. read more

Like others, bought 4 packs at Costco. Bulbs starting to burn out left and right after several months of intermittent use. They're not even lasting as long as incandescents. So far it's the "a" style normal lightbulb that seems to be the worst. I have floods and halogen replacements that have lasted much longer. Avoid the Costco pack! read more

A light is a light. So almost any company will do. If a light goes out I just want to replace it. I really don't care what company manufactures them. However, I do not want to spend 10 minutes trying to open the package the light comes in. The packaging where they have the light covered in heavy plastic with a cardboard backing is particularly frustrating. There is a special place in hell for the engineers who designed the packaging. I purchased a box of 10 15,000 hour 5000K Feit LED 100w replacement light bulbs and they have all failed within 3 months of installation, some in less than a week of installation. I called Feit's customer complaint line and told them of my problem, I gave the the part number and lot number off the bulb and they promised to send me a package of replacements, that was three to six months ago and have received nothing from them to date. I believe the picture speaks for itself! The thing the scares me the most? We have had two house fires, one in 2000 and one in 2007. This one could of been our 3rd, again, through no fault of our own. I discovered this bulb when my sons lamp was burnt out after returning from a short family vacation. We left the lamp on so that it looked like someone was home while we were away. When I went to replace it this is how I found the bulb, very scary to say the least, especially for a family that has already had two house fires! read more

I would definitely not recommend light bulbs from this company. As others have reported, I've had very disappointing experience with them. Having bought a 12-pack of CFL bulbs, I think a few of them have actually worked for a while (nowhere near what they tout on their packaging and website), but others blew out either immediately, or a couple of days, a couple of weeks, or maybe a month or so later. I didn't even think to call or do anything about it until recently, when I was near the end of the box, and two very recently installed bulbs both blew out. At least they do have a toll-free number, and it's possible to reach a live person. But, as others here have noted, that person tends to not be particularly helpful or friendly (and just to be clear, though I was disappointed, I remained polite and friendly, as I think it's never the right thing to take these kinds of frustrations out on someone in that job). The agent was not assertively rude, but not especially sympathetic or placating, when flatly stating that the only help that could be offered would be for me to mail the bulbs I still have (the other crappy ones having long since been sent to the specialty recycling center) to them, and have new bulbs sent back. I will probably do that, although with packing them up, taking them to the post office and paying for postage, it's likely not going to be worth it, especially if the new bulbs are also lousy, as happened to someone else here. It's just bad light bulb season for me, apparently, as I've also been dealing with some lemon-y ones made by Philips. Judging by those, I would not recommend that brand either (although the customer service agent there was much more friendly, and arranged to have a small refund check sent out--not much, but I no longer had receipts, so fair enough). read more

The 50-100-150W bulb on my three-way lamp burned out recently, so I went to buy a new lightbulb. Feit offered an "Eco" bulb that matched my need, so I bought it on Saturday. By Monday night it was no longer working (that's 48 hours, folks), so I took my $10.99 Feit bulb plus receipt back to Walgreens to get a refund and buy myself a standard incandescent bulb for my lamp. It's a shame, because I've bought other fluorescent bulbs (I think made by other brands) that are still going strong in my bathroom, and I've seen the curly bulbs work well for 24/7 ceiling lighting in an art studio. But I am *not* impressed by the Feit three-way bulb. read more

Very poor quality bulbs. You spend a bunch of time and money replacing bulbs all over only to find out that most will fail within 1-2 years. And customer service is marginal. While trying to get replacements, you will have to mail the bulb in (which is not worth it), or they will blame it on usage (heat, voltage, etc.). But the real issue is that these are poorly-made and not worth the time or money. And the company won't stand behind their product or their warranty. read more

Bought a 4 pack of Energy saving compact fluorescent light bulbs at Costco. Install three and within two days one burned out. Double checked in another installation to be sure it wasn't the fixture. Look, here are the facts. We purchased a brand new custom home about three years ago. We had Feit compact flourescent bulbs all over. They are absolute crap. They are expensive and we have yet to get more than a year out of one. Evidently the hour rating is in dog years or dog hours or rat hours. I have had it. I'm going to take the latest ones I have purchased and try my best to shove them up the manager of the Orchard supplies where not only the sun doesn't shine but the Feit Compact Flourescent Bulbs won't shine either. read more

My only issue is with Feit Electric is their total lack of caring about what their business is doing to the environment. People that buy LEDs generally care about energy savings and also care about the environment. However when you buy FEIT LED's, all come individually wrapped in 100% hard plastic. Layers upon layers of it - It has to add unnecessary cost onto their price's. In fact nobody can buy their LED products without the plastic packaging. Therefore they are dooming tons of it every year into land fills, and into rivers, and into the ocean. I don't like supporting yet another company that cares more about profits than what they are doing to the environment. It's a simple fix. I have to conclude Feit's upper management just doesn't care. Other companies use recycled paper packaging, which doesn't hurt anything when its thrown away, and doesn't support yet more and more plastic from being made -that recycled or not -never goes away. To add insult, FEIT doesn't even label all their plastic packaging with a plastic type number so the 1-2% of all plastic that actually does get recycled, can be. There is no excuse why a company would do this in 2015, with all the info easily accessible on how bad plastic is destroying our environment . LED's are great, and there are a lot of choices for manufacturers out there, why not pick one who shows they care about our world? read more

I bought Feit LED string lights from Costco and installed them around my deck. They look and work great but quit working after a month due to water getting into the controller. Feit replaced the controller free of charge after I contacted them even though all I was asking for was a source to purchase a replacement controller. Purchased 10W equivalent Feit bulbs from Costco. They are CRAP. Fail after probably a couple of months in kitchen fixture. From now on no more Feit products for me. I've had no problem with LED bulbs purchased at IKEA. read more
