After touring the Heineken factory, I asked one of the workers were to get a bite to eat and he told me about this gem and I thank god for that man because oh em geeee. It was down the street too so we just walked on over and it took maybe 10 minutes. My mother and I came in and were sat immediately and given a menu. It's very simple. Half or whole chicken with your choice of a side. Also, it's pretty cheap €14,50 for the half and € 28 for the whole. And for Amsterdam, that's cheap, especially when paying for freshness. The chickens are cooking (where we were sitting) in front of you and it was so juicy and lightly crispy and my mouth is watering just thinking about it. I know it sounds weird but for my side I got apple sauce and don't regret it. When I come back to Amsterdam, I will definitely be coming back here.

Regardless, the drink menu has a nice selection. There are several flavours of gin & tonics as well as other tasty cocktails to choose from. The food menu has chicken and burgers. I originally opted for the former but changed my mind when I found out that the burger special had pork belly on it. Yummmm! The burger was great. I'll have to go back again to try the chicken. I originally ordered the coleslaw because I intended to have the chicken and canceled it because I opted for the burger. It came anyway and I was charged for it. Good thing I ate it because it was actually some of the better coleslaw I've had in Amsterdam. In other restaurants in Amsterdam when several people in the party order fries frequently the fries are combined into one large serving. I really don't care for this but oh well. The place has a great atmosphere, fun and lively. It got very busy while I was there and the busier it got the louder the music got. The service was friendly and actually quite good considering how busy they were. In addition I ordered the fried chicken on the menu for take away. They appear to be fillets of chicken battered and deep fried. Nothing special though it seems they have some spice to them. Still I had to try them. I'll have to go back for another go round because I wanted to also try their milk shakes.

Long story short - they delivered 50 minutes late, i.e. after 1 hour and 20 minutes, and then to the WRONG HOTEL, the one next to ours! Hence, I had to get properly dressed, walk over 5 minutes away in December, pick up, and then back. Needless to say, ice-cold food. Add to this, quite aggressive/rude "service" when calling them to ask about the delivery (during the 50 minutes extra)... The only good thing, was that the burgers were likely average tasting had they been warm, the loaded fries where greasy, dripping with oil... so NO, NEVER AGAIN!

We were seated and received a menu. We ordered within five minutes (21:20). At this point all was still well. Unfortunately the night took a turn for the worst. The drinks (2 water and an iced tea) came out at 22:00. Round 1: at 22:10 the 'first round' arrived. Chinese Spring Roll. Served on a cardboard "plate" with a plastic cup of sweet chili sauce. No cutlery has made its way to the table at this time, fortunately the people before us left some napkins so at least my phone screen won't be too greasy writing this review. Round 2: at 22:30 our main courses arrived. Unfortunately in the hour since ordering they did not find the time to season the crispy duck or warm it up. The pancakes served with the crispy duck came in a surprisingly nice basket compared to the spring rolls. Unfortunately that's where the excitement ended, as the pancakes were covered in flower (to a point where it was the dominant flavor while eating). The garnish was served on the same beautiful paper plate as the spring rolls, which was probably bought together with the duck at a cardboard wholesaler. When we confronted the staff about the long wait the server told us "well the crispy duck always takes a bit longer". The kind fellow had nothing to say when we responded that the drinks alone already took 40 minutes. On the menu some items are marked with "15 min. Preparation time". The crispy duck was not one of those items. When ordering we figured those were the items that took longer to prepare. Since we were hungry we figured we didn't want to wait that long. I can only imagine how long those would've taken... I would not ever recommend this place, except for one scenario. Suppose someone was on death row and they could get one last meal at a restaurant before heading to the chair. I would recommend this place. If they'd order desert they may get to see their next birthday.
