Drag, glitter, house music and happy hour that kills...what more do you need on a girls night out?
Fausto, known for being the oldest gay club in Santiago (and possibly in all of South America), is not only a historical site, but is the hub of gay nightlife (there is a reason it has been around for 34 years).
Because of this and because I wanted to go somewhere with good house music, a fun atmosphere and a place where I could dance how I wanted without worrying about getting bothered by anyone, I chose Fausto for my Birthday (and it was by far one of my most favorite birthdays in Chile).
With a large group of friends (including my partner and some of his guy friends) we headed to Recoleta to the somewhat hidden, Fausto Discoteque. Because we arrived before 12am we didn't pay an entrance but depending on the night, it can be anywhere from 3mil to 5mil.
The best part of the night had to be the drag show -- the girls were dressed to the nines with feathers, glitter, fake eyelashes and bigger hair than Marie Antoinette.
The night ended perfectly. My partner and his friends received some free drinks, a friend ended up meeting someone and I was able to dance the whole night with my friends uninterrupted.
Tip:
Depending on the night (and your gender) if you get there early, entry is free!
Mondays are karaoke night. Come with friends and sing like no one's watching!
Don't miss the drag shoes on Thursday (check the event calendar on their site for more details). read more
