French Fauchon is located at the entrance floor of Zorlu Center for about one year. It has reputation mainly its cakes and macarons in Paris. It had been converted an assertive restaurant with its food menu. Although it was looked like a cafe it was assertive foods.
It had a spacious seating area. When you ordered your meal they were serving a plate consisting three kinds of bread and butter. According to me French breads were unique in the world. These breads were also nice and successful. We started our menu with onion soup. Normally, it is served with croutons and grated cheese. It was served without cheese in here. It became an eatable food for the people fearing from smelling their mouths because of onion. There was no disturbing smell or taste remained in caramelized onion.
We ordered millefeuille with smoked salmon, beef carpaccio and salad as starters. I found the millefeuille with smoked salmon very successful due to the my fondness to roquefort cheese. The mixture prepared by using mayonaisse, cheese and greenery inside of the millefeuille was very delicious. Carpaccio was served as a colorful and brilliant plate and it consisted onion, garlic, roasted pine kernel, dried tomato, broad beans and thin parmesan slices. Its taste was generally satisfactory. We ordered three different main courses to try them. Poche salmon, chicken breast with lemon and lamb neck meat. We hoped that we met special tastes from French culinary but we met a menu appropriate for Turkish palate. Although I prejudiced the chicken because of the extensity of industrial chicken in Turkey I liked mostly the chicken between this trio food. According to the information given by the chef it was a special grown chicken. We drank a white wine made of pinot grigio grapewith all these foods. It had light smell. Its taste was looked like mature fruits like apple and filled.
After meal we tried popular desserts. All of them were unique and prepared carefully. You can lose yourself because of these desserts. I dissapointed a bit about macarons when I compared them with their rival Laduree but they also successful in general. Eclairs with lemon became my favourite among dessert kinds. There were popular French cocktails in the venue. I could not try because of my limited time. Maybe for the next time. I can suggest these cocktails if you want to try a different beverage. Prices were high but it was a succesful venue especially about desserts. #KanGurular read more
