They do all annoying, time-consuming tasks you hate to do and leave you time to have more fun. Two friends of mine recently hired them to look after their homes and pets while they spent a week in DisneyWorld. It was cheaper than boarding the dogs and the dogs had more fun. They also help out businesses in running errands as well as offering an employee concierge service where they will run errands for busy workers as an employer-provided benefit. Very cool service.

However, almost a week went by and heard nothing from her, but an email stating she was no longer interested because the job would take more than a day. Was excited I would finally have some help, but very disappointed afterwords. She repeated many times, that it was a better job for a team like hers, and not a single organizer, than at the end she says I would be better with my local one person organizer. I had the money to budget for a huge job, and was ready to order the dumpster and I just wished she was upfront in the beginning that she felt this was too big of a job.

I reached out to andHOW! Graphics in Fairfield, CT, for a straightforward shirt print job. I sent…read moreover the artwork, and they confirmed it could be printed on black shirts. I mentioned I was local and asked to stop by to go over the details. When I arrived, the owner, David, introduced himself, then immediately asked, "So what is it that you want to talk about?" I explained the shirt quantity, print size, shirt quality, color accuracy, and confirmed that the TIFF file I had provided met their specs. I assumed David checked the metadata and gave it the green light. The only thing I didn't say, because I thought it was obvious, was that the final product should match what we saw on-screen. On David's computer screen. Apparently, that needs to be spelled out for these guys. Later that day or the next, I got an email saying the job was approved and to send payment. No proof, no sample, no invite to review a test print. Just a bill: $400 for 24 shirts. I paid, trusting they'd get it right. Mistake number one. When I came to pick up the shirts, David was standing in the hallway talking with his employee, Drew. When I walked in, they both looked up. David walked straight into his office, and closed the door. I pointed out to Drew that the shirts looked way too bright, the color completely stripped the artwork of its look, feel, and essence. Drew asked if I wanted to speak with David, the owner, and I said, "Sure, I'm here." He went to get him but returned not with David, but with a single shirt that was noticeably darker. "That was the first one we did," he said. Like that explained anything. As if the reason they never sent a proof, or invited me to approve a test, was because they already had a misfire they could ignore. One version was too dark, the others too bright. No follow-up. No accountability. Just boxed it up and called it done. Trying to be decent, new in town and hoping to support a local business, I was willing to let it go. I even sent a polite thank-you email saying the shirts "looked great," just to keep the door open in case David wanted to acknowledge the sloppy execution. It wasn't praise, it was a courtesy. A quiet opportunity to make it right. He didn't take it. That was my way of saying, "We're good." Mistake number two. I figured I'd give the shirts away and tucked the box in my closet. Months later, I pulled one out and noticed burn marks from the press around the artwork. Why did I wait five months to reach out? Well, It's not like I was in a rush to get home and inspect every shirt, just to make sure they all look terrible. I already knew the job was off... but now they weren't just poorly printed, they were damaged as well.. I reached out again, not about the color this time, just the burn marks. David's response? "Why did it take five months?" Honestly, whether it takes five minutes, five hours, or five months doesn't matter. His job is to make sure the shirts look good when they leave the shop. He failed. This wasn't about the money. It was about professionalism, accountability, and doing the right thing. He had two chances to make it right, once in person, once by email. He chose not to.

OK so I originally found this place on Yelp. I usually get my custom embroidery done in NY for…read morereasons that will be addressed below but decided to go somewhere local in CT. So I sent an email and was in correspondence with Sue. We we're back in forth about my design request, an estimate and then me stating that I would stop in to get it done. So I finally went to the store, maybe 3-5 days later and she was off I guess. So the part owner as he stated, name starts with a B (I forgot) was there. First of all when I walked in, no one was visibly in sight, I had to walk to the right and then was greeted (as he was seated) a "Hi, how can I help you?"...I think it's rude and call me anal but if you walk in a DEAD store and have to look for employees to assist you...that's a problem... Ok so I explained to him I was emailing back and forth with Sue and he found my email and then I told him I supply my own hats which I had in my bag, thereafter I explained how I wanted my design placed and basically my originally design they couldn't do, my second suggestion he stated would be $40 per hat which I found ridiculous given it's only $8 per hat with my single design and finally the 3rd suggestion is basically what I got...blah The whole undertone of the conversation was making me feel like he wanted to weed me out thinking I can't afford what I want...I mean I'm not insinuating racism but I am a young black female and he was a white older gentlemen who basically sized me up in my perspective... So then he quoted me the grand total and I paid in full, I found that a little different then in NY because you have the OPTION to pay deposit should you not like the proof but anyway I paid I noticed a nice quilted bomber jacket on the rack while walking to the center of the store and asked do they have a catalog, he was nice enough to give me thick catalog and website link (hence the 2nd star) The quality of the embroidery is subpar at best and you will see in the photos, that my logo is messed up on some of the hats...when I received my hats back they were all flattened and the inside tag is stretched. I do not recommend anyone do business here, they make you feel uncomfortable and the quality is trash...stay away!

I walked into the Derby store a week and a half ago. I spoke to Bret. Based on our conversation he…read moregave me a few catalogs to review. A week later I contacted him with a selection and he did not want to discuss this over the phone. Rather, he told me to email him all of the details and he would get back to me. So, I did. Several days past and I hear nothing. I call Bret back and let him know that I did what he instructed yet I've not heard back from him. He asked me what it was that I wanted. I told him that all of the details were in the email just as he instructed. He said he didn't get a chance to check his emails (3 days worth??) and that he would and get back to me by the end of business THAT day. It's been two days since that call and we've gotten NO RESPONSE. I'm an advocate for giving local businesses my business rather than larger corporations. In this instance, I can honestly say that I would no longer feel confident that the job that I'm requesting would be accomplished in a timely and professional manner based on my experience with your business. I would not recommend your business to anyone as a result.
