Fat cheeks is one of my go-to places when I'm craving a lobster roll. Although they had sold out of fries when we went (close to closing), the lobster roll still hit the spot. Service is also friendly. Make sure to order at the cashier inside, and pickup your order outside! Food is made to order so it does take a bit of time. Kama'aina discounts on Wednesdays :)
I really enjoyed the food. I got the Smashburger, fries and the fish & fries. So so good. The burger had so much taste and was filled with tomatoes, lettuce, cheese, special sauce. The fish was so soft and the outside was a good crispy with a little herb taste. They give four huge pieces. So worth it! The workers were super friendly. They were super patient and asked if I had any questions about the menu. This place is in ward located inside next to the golf area. You order inside but pick up your food outside. Lots of chairs to sit and enjoy your food there. Definitely going back to try their lobster burger. The prices are very reasonable too! My burger was $10 something Fries are $4 something Fish and fries are $20
Love the catchy name. Not feeling the vibes in terms of quantity and price. Come as you are. Free parking in Ward Center. There's one window inside. Lacked signage on where to go for pick up. Observe where the customer(s) walk when buzzer vibrates. Customer service was standard with drink and fries offered. Another $2 for ginger ale in aluminum can. Additional costs for fries which I declined. Tips prior to ordering: 1) Everything on the menu is ala carte. 2) Place your order inside, pay, then employee will provide a receipt and buzzer. 3) When buzzer vibrates, turn left, step outside, turn left, return buzzer, and pick up your order at the window. Squeezed the lemon over 3.5 oz lobster which was lightly seasoned, buttered on a grilled roll for $23.95. Quick bite for a quick lunch between appointments. Simplicity. I do not envision spending over $40 for a 6 oz lobster roll.
Haven't been here in 3 years since i'm usually at work during their operating hours. I decided to stop by for lunch on a Tuesday. It cost $23.90 for a lobster roll and it no longer comes with chips like it used to! i was disappointed with almost a 30 minute wait time but I didn't order ahead of time since it was an impromptu visit. I recommend ordering ahead of time online or the wait is going to eat up your lunch break. The lobster roll was good, although smaller than other places, the entire sandwich is lobster which was really good, no fillers of veggies and other things like some other lobster roll places. The lobster was fresh and the bread was grilled wonderfully with butter. If ordering in person you order on the inside then wait for your food on the outside. Highly recommend if in the area but order ahead of time!
Took advantage of their Wednesday 10% discount for local residents and phoned in my order of the Jumbo Lobster roll. It was so buttery, delicious, well grilled bread and filled with fresh lobster meat. So lucky to have this place near home. Hubby loved their burger. Super nice staff, and will come
Stopped here for lunch late afternoon on a weekday. It's kind of hard to find, tucked into a little spot in a shopping center food court. We ordered the smash burger with fries and it had a great flavor and was cooked to order. There is seating inside the food court or outside on the patio. Service was fast and friendly.
Haven't tried any of their actual lobster rolls yet BUT I have tried their burger and fries which are very good. Their fries are crispy and very well-seasoned. Their burgers are tasty and nicely put-together. I got their burger with added grilled/caramelized onion which was super tasty. Their prices are standard but with fries and a drink could run about $20 after tip. My only gripe, which is preventing me from giving them 5 stars, is due to the horrible encounter I had on my very first visit with one particular employee that they had working the register who could use an attitude adjustment... I was looking to order online so that I could do a quick pickup but was already nearby so I figured it'd be quicker to walk up and order at their counter. Upon arrival, there was only one gentleman ahead of me who when ordering was pleasantly greeted by the employee. She even went as far as to ask him how his day was going, upon taking his order, so it appeared promising that it would be a pleasant experience. As soon as he stepped away from the window and I began to approach the counter, she did not greet nor smile at me. Instead, she curtly said "one moment please" and walked away abruptly to help the kitchen with all the orders. I figured it was crunch-time for them and they were getting busy BUT there was no one else behind me and it honestly felt like she singled me out. She could've taken my single order before stepping away but chose to cut me off instead. I waited for about 8-10 minutes and since I got no acknowledgment from any of the staff and figured she'd forgotten about me so I left. I come from the service industry so I am very well aware of how swamped/backed up things can get during rush hour BUT how you communicate and treat your customers who wait patiently can truly determine the outcome of a good experience regardless of how long the wait and how good the food is. Which is why I was truly thrown-off by this particular employee who was rude, unfriendly, and unprofessional towards me. I went about my business completing some errands nearby and ended up placing an online order with them which is what I should've done in the first place. It was of no surprise to me, when I picked up my order from her, that she continued giving me her stinky attitude and did not even thank me even though I thanked her for handing me the order. After tasting everything, I really did want to give them 5 stars but just couldn't bring myself to do so because of this one single employee. I'm aware they're short-staffed like many restaurants are right now but I hope this will be addressed and rectified somehow. If I have a better experience, next time around, my mind could be swayed enough to increase my star-rating of Fat Cheeks.
YUMMMM! Went to Fat Cheeks after a morning on a boat and food was sooo good!! * Buttered Lobster Roll ($23.90): SO TASTY AND BUTTERY. I loved it. * Lobster Smash Cheeseburger ($21.90): Filling and very good as well. * Fish and Fries ($18.50): Oh so crispy and fish was fresh! The fries were also very crispy and perfectly made as well. * Fried Chicken Sandwich ($12): Good but a tad salty with the added sauce. Everything we tried was so good! Orders are taken inside and there are a tables inside and outside for dining. After ordering at the front, you'll get a beeper that'll alert you when food is ready for pick up at the counter. Parking was easy. Fat Cheeks is located in an unassuming shopping mall with free parking in a garage across from the Ala Moana pier. Overall, Fat Cheeks goes down as one of my favorite spots I've tried during my trip to O'ahu. Prices are super reasonable - esp their lobster roll! (Most lobster roll spots around Waikiki are ~$30+) I highly recommend everyone to try Fat Cheeks.
Everything is so crispy!!!! The crisp is insane. The lobster roll is good. I wasn't crazy about it but it was good. Fish and fries were so fresh and crispy and the tartar sauce was so good. Everything was a bit too greasy for me so the spicy ketchup really helped cut through the grease haha. The fish in the fried fish was so juicy and fat and tender!!
I've tried The Daily and Chubs and this place is up there or even better than the aforementioned places. The burger was juicy and well seasoned and great for the price $10.79 for 2 patties as of 04/25/26. Their signature sauce is the bomb too. I don't think you can beat the price compared to other smash burger places. My gf and I will definitely becoming back.
This is an update since it's been a few years. Still our favorite place to enjoy Buttered Lobster Rolls! They still taste great with the buttered bun and generous amount of delicious lobster with no fillers. Only now it doesn't come in a combo with the chips and the prices have increased (like everything else in Hawaii). It's $23.90 now for a lobster roll but it's still cheaper than most places that charge $30. With a drink (can soda) and a bag of Hawaiian chips, it's $26.90 which is worth it. I like the choice of indoor and outdoor seating. Order at the inside counter and pickup your order outside. They give you a buzzer that lets you know when your order is ready so you can wander around in the air conditioned mall. The counter service is always friendly. Sad that this Ward Center mall is planned to be demolished to make another condo so this business has to find another location again. I'm told they hope to be there until early next year so that's a relief. I hope they can find a good location nearby.

As promised, an awesome review! This is a must spot when traveling to Honolulu. Easy process order inside, wait for the pager to go off as you walk around and visit with neighboring stores. eating area is outside. But let's talk about the food! My daughter had the fries with freshly made in-house Ranch which were a perfect dup. I myself had the Lobster cheeseburger w/bacon, lettuce, onion and tomato. The lobster was delicious, It had a whole lobster claw, which I ate all on its own! :) It also comes with two patties. Super hearty and held me over for the night. ***4.5*** You know how everyone has that friend that reminds you how you're on a diet and you shouldn't eat this or that? Well...I'm NOT that friend . Came here after a day of swimming. Hungry. I've been here 3 or 4 times now. This is my favorite meal: Lobster BLT 5/5- It was love at 1st bite. It has protein L & T and the FC sauce is like the dressing in your "salad" between 2 grilled brioche buns. Mango Lemonade 5/5 Just the perfect blended and sweetness, tartness French Fries 5/5 -Nicely fried and seasoned Lemon Curd Tart (Yes, don't think twice about it; GET. This was my first time trying a lobster roll on island. I had always passed this place but I am glad that my partner and I gave it a chance. We ordered the original lobster rolls and a side of fries. The order was fairly quick for it having a lunch rush and they gave us our order at the table we sat at as well. I enjoyed the lobster quality and the warm butter roll. They were generous with the lobster portion. It costs us around $50 for everything, so not the cheapest but the quality is there. I would recommend for lunch and if you are looking for a lobster roll place on O'ahu for chill vibes without going to a restaurant. read more

Updating this review to say they are still a 5 star eatery! The prices are steep but you're paying for the quality for sure! We tried their mango and guava lemonade this time and they were both very refreshing. Tasted more like juice than a lemonade though. The chowder was good but the potatoes were large chunks and I prefer smaller bite sized pieces. Just my personal preference. I got the jumbo lobster roll which has 6oz of lobster! I couldn't finish it all so I ended up just eating all the lobster out and leaving a lot of the delicious buttery roll. I figured I had to eat my money's worth ($35) which was the lobster meat. The lobster burger is always a winner and we got it for free using our loyalty points! What a deal! It was a $24.25 value and comes with fries, which are absolutely delicious! Wow had a craving for fries and was not disappointed! Crispy on outside and moist in inside. Ordered takeout and they were still great. The fried fish was devine. Tender moist white fish with light crispy crust perfectly seasoned. So so yummy! Over a large order of their terrific fries...what could be better? Fat Cheeks is a small casual spot in Ward Warehouse that takes orders and let's you choose to eat inside or outside The menu is pretty long with different variations of shrimp, fish, and of course the lobster I opted for the shrimp roll with the garlic butter on a toasted roll, with a free side of chips The shrimp were plump and juicy, the garlic butter was rich and flavorful, and the bun was toasted and buttery, a perfect combination. The only downside was how big the sandwich was because it was hard to fit it all into one bite (so it will be a slightly messy experience) but so worth it! read more

This place is famous for lobster, but don't sleep on the double-patty smashburger + fries! It's a basic, nothing fancy or creative like Chubbies, but it's basic done RIGHT. The fat cheeks sauce is extra but definitely addictive and memorable. Cheeseburger 9/10: Delicious but unmemorable without the fat cheeks sauce Fries 7/10: Not the best, not the worst. Best with fat cheeks sauce. Value 10/10: Nowhere in town can you find a delicious double-smashburger AND fries for under $14. Amazing. My Cheeks gon get Fat. read more
The food is good especially for the lobster part. However except for that, the service is kind of disappointing. For 1 order they made the customized adjustment to remove onion, however for the other order they can't remove the bacon. Don't quite understand the inconsistent process there. I am going to give this a 5 star for such a little place that has few items on the menu but they pack a good punch! We are always on the look out for good hot lobster rolls and this place did not dissapoint. We got the lobster roll and smash burger/fries and both were very good. It is about a 20 minute wait. You order at the window and they have a few seating areas inside and a few outside. We will definitely go back. read more

this place was alright. What killed it was the wait time in line to order and the wait time for our food to come out. My husband and I ordered the: Fried fish roll BLT Fries German potato salad Ranch & Spicy Ketchup and 2 drinks Overall the BLT was the best out of the two rolls. It was refreshing compared to the overly salty batter of the fried fish. My roll was unevenly cut and I got tired of the taste rather quickly. Both the fries and potato salad were good too, I highly recommend getting the ranch. You won't be disappointed! read more

Amazing lobster roll tucked quietly in the Ward Village shopping complex. The roll is served with some chips and prepared perfectly with just the right amount of butter and seasoning. Seating is outside in small metal tables so this is more of a to go or casual style venue. Service is super friendly and efficient each time we come here. read more
Just stumbled upon this little takeout window thing. You can sit down and eat in the area or to go you have to order inside though and pick up outside. I got the cheeseburger lobster which was so delicious and juicy. It comes with a slice of lemon oh my God, amazing flavors who would have thought lobster in a cheeseburger was that amazing!! Seriously one of the best burgers I have ever had my son got a cheeseburger with bacon just plain bun me cheese bacon lol and he said it was the best burger he has ever had. I don't know if he's exaggerating or not but he definitely rated a 10 out of 10. The fries were so good too. The service here is great. They are so nice and they do check up on you. Came across Fat Cheeks while shopping at Ward Center. They are located at the old Mocha Java serving up delicious lobster stuffed items. I saw their menu and just had to order the Lobster Cheeseburger. I enjoy cheeseburgers and lobster so why not have both?! The entire burger was SO ONO & their fries were very crispy and tasty even without ketchup. I would definitely recommend this lobster cheeseburger if you're feeling hungry, hands down. Everything about this place was great! Service was organized and friendly. After you order, you are given a beeper to alert you when your food is on its way to the table. Location is also convenient because it's located in Ward Center, with lots of parking. I love a simple lobster roll and this spot lived up to my expectations. The bread was thick and light at the same time and buttered and toasted perfectly. They didn't skimp on the lobster pieces either because every bite had a good amount of chunks in it. The lobster was also seasoned well. I also tried their fried chicken sandwich and normally I'm not a big fan of chicken sandwiches because they are too dry. Surprisingly, their chicken sandwich was crispy and juicy at the same time, it also paired really well with the sauce and veggies. Definitely one of the best chicken sandwiches I've ever had! Always so amazing! I could come here forever and I will! They use big juicy pieces of lobster and fresh seafood! The lobster burger and lobster BLT is our go to! And you can't forget the side of truffle mayo! They have THE BEST fries I ever had, perfectly crispy! Price is a definitely worth overt bite and experience! The service is amazing! The cashier is always friendly and has a smile! They have outdoor seating so you have feel the nice island breeze while you enjoy the delicious food or if it's just too hot they have some seats inside with great AC! There's a restroom right on the side so don't be scared to get you hands dirty and dig in! I only wish they would extend their hours so I can eat here more!! read more

Weekends are very busy here. Go early because your favorite may sell out. I ordered the fish and chips and it didn't disappoint. The fish was lightly battered with a nice crunch and the tartar sauce was yummy! The fries was tasty. Also ordered the double cheeseburger which did not disappoint! If your looking for an amazing lobster roll this is the place to go. I ordered the butter lobster roll online for pick up and put in the time I would be there. I arrived right when my order was supposed to be ready and I was greeted by friendly staff. Sure enough my lobster roll was ready and waiting for me. It was an easy pick up. What I love about this place is the roll is stuffed with an abundance of fresh lobster meat and topped with thick claws. You know your eating lobster when you take a bite and the butter enhances all the flavors. I highly recommend trying this place. read more

I got the jumbo lobster roll, which was just about $40. 8oz of pure lobster meat, a mixture of both tail and claws. They are very, very heavy handed with the butter. Like other reviewers have mentioned, it is a LOT of butter, so much that it did overpower the sweet flavor of the lobster meat. One bite, and the butter is literally dripping. Next time, I'm telling them to go easy on the butter. read more

I was impressed by how a small shop can produce such big flavors! Fat cheeks Hawaii is a burger and sandwich restaurant with a small crew that goes a pretty good servicing. From the cashier to the cooks and into your possession, the food can come out quickly. The fries are top tier with the most crispy and crunchy frie out there. Their charred grill burger patties are the most amazing tasting burgers. Charred grilled is the way to go. Their burger and sandwich items do have lobster in it, and some don't. They have an outdoor covered seating area to dine. Parking is a structure parking, and there are many more around the area if ever it's full (rare). Payment: Cash or card read more
