This is one of Franklins best gas stations that would be comparable to stations of the past. All the out-of-staters with issues about parking... I have one sentence for them: redo your road test! This RaceTrac is large too, pumps aplenty and friendly staff. Some local guy even held the door open for about 12 peeps, all coming in in the morning. It was a small town, Southern-gentility type shop. Gas was cheap. Coffee was hot. In Georgia, I'm generally a fan of QuikTrip and RaceTrac. The gas stations are big, relatively clean, and have low fuel prices. I stopped by this RaceTrac and picked up a couple Vita Coco drinks ($2.50 each) for the road. I started drinking one of the boxes in the car and noticed it tasted funny and unpleasant. Upon further inspection, I saw the drink had expired months ago. Blech. They need to check the expiration dates on their inventory (and I need to check them before buying).

The sauce is a little sweet, I recommend the sliced brisket over the chopped brisket any day. I would recommend to just skip The three meat sandwich, all you could taste is a sausage- and this may be a hot take... But I don't love the sausage. As for the chicken tenders, wait until it's hot fresh and just put out and it's a life-changing experience. The Buc-ee's sauce is the only way to go. You can get barbecue sauce or honey mustard at any other place. The fries are definitely better than the homemade chips. I did not like those chips, I don't know if I just didn't have them hot and fresh, but I would say skip them. We got some banana pudding to go. Also, would not recommend. It's vanilla pudding with some bananas and wafers. I like my banana pudding to be banana pudding not vanilla pudding with bananas, etc.. We grabbed some essential road trip, snacks, including Buc-ee's nuggets, two different kinds of beef, jerky, peanuts, pickle, flavored potato sticks, and some of their signature mince, both the cotton candy and the traditional. We also got some of their signature cola. The diet cola was mid, the regular was better. and in addition to the snacks and food, we also picked up a hat and a T-shirt for both of us. The staff were amazing. This place is like Grand Central Station, it gets very crowded very fast. Speaking of fast, the cashiers and folks working at the meat carving station were legendarily fast.. Fill up before you go up because the price for fuel is far higher in Highlands-Cashiers area. Because of the winding roads it's a long slow drive. A white knuckle drive for some. Next door to the station is a great place for RV's to park for just a few nights, a week or even the entire summer. Situated beside the Cullasajsa River, very professional and incredibly friendly with a nice sense of community within and surrounded by a peaceful community.
