DEFINITELY WORTH THE TIME AND MONEY WHETHER ON A RIDE-ALONG PACKAGE OR SOLO!!! The good/great:…read moreYou're in a real NASCAR, whether the package is "ride along," or racing. I do recommend getting the picture and video package because of how fun this was. We got our deal on Groupon, and I got 5 laps, which was definitely fun, but YOU'LL WANT MORE LAPS, so get more if you can afford them. I didn't give 5 stars because my car broke down twice during my 5 laps, and they said they gave me 2 extra laps as a result (but that's not true), yet I'd do it all over the same again, even with the breakdowns. This was ABSOLUTELY FUN!!! The ABC's: 1) Show up on time, and you'll register, where they pressure you into extra ($60) insurance, or you pay $15k "on the spot," if you wreck/damage the car. You don't need the insurance IN MY OPINION, then 2) You attend a 15-20 minute class where the bossman explains all aspects with plenty of emphasis on safety, then 3) your group, as a group, makes way to the track/pit, after the previous group is done & walking back (EVERYONE SMILING), then 4) you suit up, helmet off for pictures of you sitting on the race car door with feet inside for pics, proceed to get inside, put helmet on, an assistant buckles you into the 5-point harness, you put the steering wheel on, then 5) (most impressively) you put "your ears on" by sliding your "spotter radio" speakers in the helmet and follow your spotters instructions for the rest of the race, 6) as you enter the raceway with other race cars (some solo, some ride-alongside), GOING FULL THROTTLE at the explained parts of the track, passing (when given the okay by your spotter), and allowing others to pass (when instructed by the spotter). PLAIN & SIMPLE, THIS WAS AN ABSOLUTE BLAST!!! Thank you to all staff, crew, and other racers!!! Unreal, lifetime, bucket-list experience!!!

I had to quit the racetrack.... The word of the week is sexism and Finley Speedway is ran by sexist…read moremen. This had happened many times and im done. Cameron and I were very excited to work the speedway this summer. Willingly giving up our weekends and telling our current employer that this was a commitment we wanted to keep. Our primary employer agreed to let us make up the hours through the week (come in early, stay late whatever) so we could leave early on Friday to make it to track on time. Last night I was helping with parking, my job was to wave a flag to direct traffic through two flags with a space about 10 feet apart. There was only one entrance and it was also the exit to this parking lot. That entrance had to be shared with the cars and the people coming and leaving the event. At the same time cars are going through there are about 6000 people using the same entrance to get to the event. There were multiple times a kid or someone with a wheelchair almost got hit. I'm trying to move people along and directing vehicles as safely as I can though this small space. It was not hard and nothing bad happened. I was waving a flag to direct traffic. While I'm doing my job a man on a four wheeler is coming and going through the traffic I was directing. He was Stopping traffic so he could cross back and forth. I didn't think much of it, a few mins later he stops and starts yelling at me. Telling me I need to get the cars moving fast. He was very aggressive. I explained to him there is not much more I can do other then wave the flag, the traffic was continually moving. Traffic had slowed due to the collection of parking payments (which I was not conducting). I had zero control over how fast the traffic was going. He yelled at me again and asked "If he has to do it himself" I replied if you think you can wave this flag better go ahead. I'm very upset at this point. I dont know who he was, or if he even worked there or not. He was a stranger yelling very aggressively at me. My supervisor came out and I asked him if this guy works there and the guy starts yelling at me again. The reason why I believe he was being sexist is because there was a whole field of men and he singled me out. I don't know if he thought I would just take it or what. I did not I matched his tone in response because no man especially a co-worker should yell at me, I was just doing my assigned job. I did nothing wrong and he singled me out. There is a powertrip problem at that place and it's disgusting. I had zero training, they gave me a shirt and told me to do the job, and then get angry when things go differently than their unstated expectations. One supervisor will tell us to do one thing then another will tell us something completely different. Their lack of organization has put the safety of many at risk. I had to stop traffic a few times to let people cross, but a child being hit by a car would be a much bigger problem then getting people to a parking spot at a faster rate. They do not care about the safety of their employees or patrons and only care about the money patrons spend. There should be at least another opening for people to cross safety that is not next the moving traffic. I will not be continuing to support this speedway and suggest you don't either until something is done about the sexism and lack of safety. I have worked in a male dominate industry for a while now and have never been talked to or treated the way I was at the Speedway. also have not been paid.
