OMG! I have an actual secret! (I know it's a secret because I was at the very first event of its kind and know that lots of you weren't!). Belfast City Hall is running a series of events around the City on a Sunday, on a regular basis.
One of these is the Fashion Souk in the Ulster Hall. It's held on the second Sunday of each month from 1-5pm and the one I went to was fabby, fabby, fab! Young designers from north and south were there, hand-printed t-shirts, jumble stalls, hand-made jewellery, proper, proper vintage stalls, accessories....trinket heaven in the extreme.
For festival goers, there was a really interesting designer there with little wrap-round colourful and flowery skirts made from things like Cath Kidston tents recycled (apparently to keep mud and rain off bum at Glasto - perish the thought!).
It was truly a collection of genuinely affordable original clothes, shoes and accessories. The next one is on October 9 - you lot have to promise to wait til 16 Oct, tho', so I can nab all bargains (only joking, of course). read more
