This restaurant was part of my all-inclusive stay at Emporio. If I were paying separately, this review would have a much lower rating, as it is supposed to be a fine dining experience and certainly did not feel like one.
The main issue was the service was incredibly slow. Both of our meals took 3 hours, most of it just waiting around. The restaurant was busy so we tried to be understanding, but our waiters continually forgot our orders and the things we asked for.
The food was alright -
Starters: the best thing was the tuna tartare (might've been the best food of the meal). The chorizo was good as well but a bit oily. The octopus crackling, sailfish carpaccio, and Serrano ham were average.
To be plain, the asparagus and spinach soup was bad. Vaguely salted without much other flavor, with stringy and tough bits of vegetable in a slew of leafy bits. None of us drank even half.
Mains:
-The seafood linguini was pretty good. The sauce is slightly spicy, and there's a good amount of seafood. The noodles were undercooked the first time we ordered it but not the second time.
-The lemon sea bass was not flavorful and dry. We could barely get through the dish. Would not recommend.
-Expect your steak to be cooked unevenly and to medium, even if you ask for it to be rare (which happened to us twice). The flavor was okay though. We saved some chimichurri sauce from the bread roll appetizer (given to all) to add some flavor.
-The montevideo flatbread was alright. Good seafood selection but not much in flavor.
-The pork ribs were good! We enjoyed these and would order again.
-The zaku tuna was alright as well. The sauce was good. However, they forgot to put this order in even though we asked where this dish was twice, and it came so late we were already done eating.
Desserts: we tried every dessert over our meals - the dulce de leche alfajor cookies are good! The sorbets are good as well. The other desserts were so so.
The interior is beautiful, but note that it's always hot and muggy inside. When they open the sliding doors it's better though. read more
