The owner of this company (Bob) came to my (96y/o) Mothers house and did a mold assessment, we additionally paid for a sample to be tested, and then he returned a week later with a proposed contract. Upon his return, we asked about the results of the test, and he laughed and said he "lost it" (but he didn't lose the $300 check that he cashed for the assessments). there was no mention of that sample until I asked him...... guessing he wished, I forgot about it! He did repeat the sample.
We did choose to use him because he seemed quite experienced. He was given a $2200 check as a deposit (over $5000 to mitigate one small room in the basement) He said with the provided deposit they would secure the dates we requested, and that his office would be calling us to confirm. After 10 days, I decided to call them since nobody contacted us and his scheduling gal knew nothing about the dates or what needed done. She had to pull my mother's file and then she asked if she would call me back in an hour or so she could figure out what they needed to do.
At this point, we decided to cancel the contract and find somebody else. Our confidence level in this company was on high alert between the lost sample and no communication. I was told on the phone that they would return my mother's money but what he returned was $2000 and he kept $200 for "his time."
When I called to challenge what he was talking about he said it was for the assessment. I quickly reminded him that he was already paid for that (and it was more than $20), and he said "oops, my mistake......I'll mail your Mother her $200"
They may be good- not sure......but it all felt shady and unprofessional. Who jacks with a 96 year old woman? Buyer beware!!!!! read more
