Portugal is doing an outstanding job of fighting COVID and one thing they're doing is requiring a COVID test to enter the country. My test was checked as I left the airport but now that I'm here in Lisbon, I need another test to get home. Throughout Lisbon, several pharmacies have set up these temporary testing locations. Farmácia Azevedos is located near the Rossio train station and was super convenient so I went here this morning.
First, you do need to make an appointment. The website and a QR code are on the side of the trailer. It took about ten minutes on my slow Internet to go through the appointment process and pay for my test - €25. By this point, I was at the front of the queue.
Of course, masks are required and all of the associates were wearing their masks and also surgical gowns over their street clothing to prevent further spread. The young ladies at the appointment side spoke great English. they processed my appointment, confirmed my contact information and payment, then sent me to the next.
At the next station, my nose was swabbed (yay!) and I was sent on my way. The results were emailed to me within an hour - negative. Hooray, I get to go home!
Super efficient, easy to get things done and no language barrier. Quite well done.
