The owner demonstrated poor communication and failed to show up for my scheduled appointment for a bid. Thirty minutes after the scheduled time, I reached out to the owner to inquire about the no-show, noting that I had taken time off work for the appointment.
Initially, I scheduled the appointment through Ace Hardware's online system, where I received a confirmation. The owner then contacted me via email, and I confirmed the appointment again. Given these two confirmations, I expected that to be sufficient communication. Additionally, the owner had all my contact information if further clarification was needed.
When I addressed the missed appointment, the owner accused me of not confirming with her directly. In response, I forwarded her the email in which she had confirmed the appointment, including her reply that stated the date and time. I expressed my dissatisfaction with her unprofessionalism and informed her that I would not be using her services. She then shifted the blame onto me, claiming I failed to confirm via a notification she allegedly sent--one that I never received via text, email, or phone.
Whether this was a case of poor communication on her part or a reflection of how she runs her business, I will not be a returning customer. read more
