During the initial meeting with the auctioneer, I was told that an inventory of the items taken from the house would be generated and I would receive a copy. I was also told that the house would totally be cleaned out and not to worry about anything. He would do his job and all would be completed at the end of the clean out. I saw the beginning of a list being made and felt comfortable with that. An inventory, however, was never presented to me. When the house was supposedly "cleaned out," there were many items still remaining, such as wrapping paper, pillows, sheets, tables, book cases, and many other pieces of furniture, along with trash in the middle of each room. I called him several times and he told me he only took what he thought he could sell. There was lots of "clean-up" for me to do personally, so much so that I had to engage a trash removal company. With the few small payments that were received, none of the items were documented. Requests were made to him to be more specific, but no response came my way. I feel that he extremely misrepresented what he would do and did not follow through with what was initially agreed upon. Do not utilize this auctioneer without having a signed agreement detailing every aspect of the work to be completed. read more
