Very disappointed that a manager named Sonia wouldn't correct her own mistake! Went through the drive thru & I specifically asked for a yellow Gatorade with my daughters kids chicken tender meal (I don't care if it was a 60cent upgrade!) and the girl literally said red or yellow and I said yellow! So I pull up to pay & she hands me the drinks and I handed her my card, before I could even tell her that I didn't order a soda for the kids meal she snapped back at me with "it's a 60 cent extra charge"! Usually a good regular spot for my family to eat. But very disappointed at the lack of service. Not being able to dine inside at 9:20 in the evening. A full 40 minutes before posted closing time. If I'm going to spend what this place charges, $$, it is way better dine-in then to go. Good food when you eat in, it doesnt travel well. I've had some bad experiences with Other locations of Farmers Boys but, this location has totally changed my mind! I was serving jury duty and needed somewhere close for lunch. The first day I had the hamburger combo and have to admit it was even better than In n Out burgers. The French fries were amazing, fresh and crispy! Burger had a great charred taste to it and all the fixings on the sandwich were very fresh and delicious. The second day I tried the sourdough grilled chicken with bacon and avocado. Really delicious as well! I also have to mention that the staff here are really wonderful and have a fantastic attitude! If I'm in the area again, I would not hesitate to drop in and have some wonderful food served by a great crew! read more

Excellent experience today, haven't been here for several months and returned today to find that they had remodeled the restaurant in a beautiful manner: it is clean, open, bright and inviting, with new seating, lots of space, beautiful design & very welcoming! Was greeted warmly and served by Christina, who has a friendly smile for everyone! She clearly aims to provide the best customer service to all, and I observed her making routine rounds to the dining room, clearing tables, welcoming the customers, and making sure they were happy and had everything they needed! THAT is a great employee! She goes above and beyond what we typically receive in a fast-casual food restaurant. And the food here is excellent as well! Always hot, fresh and flavorful, with convenient free refills on beverages and the wonderful check-ins by friendly staff. They really make you feel welcome, and truly aim to please when it comes to food service. I was driving from Surprise, AZ out to Orange County, CA, and needed to stop somewhere to get some lunch. I hadn't had a Farmer Boy burger in years, it was on the way out, and sounded good, so I stopped. Before I went in, I downloaded their App on my phone....$5.00 off your order, instantly! Score! I parked, walked in, and placed my order for a Farmers Burger with no tomato, and a large strawberry shake. I showed the lady my coupon on my phone, and my total came out to just over $6.00. Not bad...not bad at all! I was handed my number, took a seat and then waited for my food to come out. The lady brought out my shake first, then my burger a few minutes later. Here is how everything was.................... Farmers Burger- When you get a "good" Farmers Burger, there are not many fast food style burgers that can compete. This thing comes with 2 beef patties, cheese, bacon, avocado, lettuce, tomato (got mine without), and a thousand island style sauce. When done right, the combo of flavors are amazing and you get pretty much a perfect burger. Today though, it was not the case. It was just average. I have had average Farmer Boy burgers from other locations too. The only one that is rock solid and where I have never had an average/bad burger is the one in Escondido, CA. That place rocks! Anyways......back to the burger here. The patties seemed smaller than normal, and they were just kind of warm. Not hot, just warm. The bun on this burger was whack too. As soon as I squeezed down with my fingers, the bun started to kind of tear apart and the avocado started coming through the holes in the bun. Made for a very messy burger. The bun was not as good as it could have been either. A softer, potato style bun would be preferred. The bun they use here is just a standard seeded hamburger roll. A bit too "puffy" and not enough chew. The bacon was fine, the avocado was good, the cheese was just alright...not 100% melted due to the warm, not hot, burgers. I ate the whole thing down, but was a tad disappointed. Honestly, it was like a 2 star burger. One of the worst ones I have had from any Farmer Boys. Strawberry Shake- Now this thing totally made up for the mediocre burger. This strawberry shake was fantastic! Large, ice cold, thick but not too thick (easily suckable through the straw), and very refreshing. One of the better strawberry shakes I have ever had. Service was friendly as usual. Farmer Boys employees are usually very nice and upbeat, and I like the fact that they bring your food out to you. Overall, this place was just ok. The burger was meh, the shake was great. Couple that with the $5.00 off coupon, this place was A-OK in my book. What a find! Sustainable, locally sourced food in the middle of the desert! Here's the best part... ITS A DRIVE THROUGH!!! The food was fantastic! I had the country fried chicken bowl. Perfect Sunday cheat day choice! The chicken was tender, moist and perfectly fried. The gravy was peppery and luscious without being too flabby. I don't eat eggs, so I can't connect on those. The hash browns were clearly hand cut and had a great flavor. I'd probably ask for them to be well done next time. My guy had the sourdough chicken avocado combo. I made a phone order on Thursday April 12, 2018 for 7 of my employees at Coachella thinking that this was a great option for lunch. I spoke highly about Farmer Boys to my employees since I remember it being good quality when I last went to one near LA several years ago. Unfortunately this was the worst experience I have had at any quick service restaurant ever. I ordered normal menu items and one special order of a double hamburger with only meat and ketchup for my Jewish employee. When I arrived to pick up the food I asked if they had a box to put everything in since I might have to carry everything by myself from the staff lot to our tent at Coachella. For those of you working Coachella, you know that's not a short walk. After asking for a box and explaining my situation I was first given attitude and then given a tiny box that could not hold everything. Eventually when the food was ready, they gave me a larger box (with more attitude) after I expressed that my order would not fit in that smaller box. I asked if I had received everything and they said yes and rushed me out of the restaurant. I started carrying the box and then went back to confirm that I got the 2nd part of my order since I had to order a combo separately. They said "it's all there" again very rudely. Upon returning to show site, I unpacked the food and distributed it only to find out that they did not give me the food for my boss. Additionally the special order was made with cheese. I called to explain the situation and the manager was very nice and asked me what they needed to remake and have ready for me to pick up. I said I needed the Barn Burner combo and a Bell Ringer (since that was the closest thing to a double hamburger) with nothing but meat and ketchup. I repeated that I only wanted meat and ketchup on it a couple times during the call. The manager said it would be ready for me in 15-20 min. I then returned to the restaurant to pick up the food and ask if everything is there and ask for some sort of refund for all the hassle since my boss was quite upset. The manager then reassures me that she had the chef personally confirm the order and make it correctly. She then explained that she could not offer me any refund whatsoever and that I would have to speak to the owner. I left my number to receive a call from the owner regarding the issue. The manager did thankfully give me a chocolate shake for my boss to make up for all the mess. I get back to Coachella and walk almost a mile back to my tent to distribute the food. My bosses order had a burned patty in it and the double hamburger had cheese on it again!!!! I call really upset and the manager tells me "oh, I didn't know you didn't want cheese on it. That would be a different hamburger. Cheese automatically comes on this burger"........ what double hamburger on their menu doesn't come with cheese! Really??? I ordered the burger with only meat and ketchup! Do I have to list every option that I don't want on it so they can get it right? The manager then asks me if I want to come back and get the hamburger made without cheese this time. I made the initial order at 2pm and it is now shortly after 5pm... my employee and boss are really upset. My employee decides that she doesn't want the burger anymore and I have lost 3 hours of working time to this whole mess. 3 hours of lost load in time in production is a lot of money! We decide not to get the burger remade and I stress to the manager that I really need to speak to the owner about all this and she assures me that the owner will call me. The owner of this location has not called me and it is now Sunday. I do not believe that this owner cares or will call me so now my boss has decided that we will never go back to Farmer Boys for any staffing meals or catering again. We are going to let everyone we know about this and tell them to never go to Farmer Boys when near Coachella. My order was $60. We lost way more than $60 on lost time. Farmer Boys has been here in the valley for some time now. The restaurant is always clean and they have excellent service! The family and I usually come here for breakfast. They provide some really good breakfast plates! I finaly tried their Farmer Burger which comes with 2 beef patties, cheese, lettuce, tomato, pickles, chopped onion, thousand island dressing and avocado spread! The burger was big, juicy and good! What needs improvement is the bread. The bread started to fall apart when reaching the end of the burger. You can either choose from fries, zuchinni or onion rings and a drink with your combo. Drive thru can take long depending on the time so be prepared to do some wait time. Overall, it is a decent place to enjoy some breakfast or burgers! read more

I live in indio and work right around the corner from farmer boys and it was always a favorite but lately every time i go back there is something that isn't right. Today it was my beloved fried zucchini that i order every time. My boyfriend had the bag in my car from the short trip around the corner and to my work. when i grabbed the bag the whole bottom ripped and my food was on the parking lot ground. i has to scoop it into this plastic bag i could save the wrap but my expensive zucchini was a no go. First time at farmer boys. My family and l had a wonderful bonding camping trip over the weekend and decided to stop for a bite on our way home . I understand there are certain restrictions due to covid, but this is my first time having to split my family up to sit down and eat . I pulled a 2 tables together to accommodate my family of 8 . Immediately a staff member came up to me and said we could not combine the tables. Regardless of the fact that there was family of 6 all Sitting together next to us . She pulled the tables apart, i had to split up the family and yell across the dining room . Ridiculous!!!! The food is good but this is the most absurd thing I've ever experienced. We all live in the same house hold . There are no laws that say families can't sit together. Won't be coming back here again ! read more

Taking a friend down to Indio to catch the Greyhound, we had some time to kill and bellies to fill, so we stopped in for breakfast. Order at the counter and then your food is brought to you. Not my favorite kind of service, but it will do. I got an omelet with ham and peppers. I asked for fruit. Fruit was sweet and ripe. I'm so used to getting underripe fruit in places that I was pleasantly surprised. I liked my breakfast, but it wasn't outstanding. The young lady who brought us our food did come by a few times to check on us. She also bussed the table, even though there are trashcans for you to do that yourself.
