There is also a counter that sells plates of cheese, hams and chorizo that you can share as you sample the wines. There is a restaurant upstairs although this wasn't open when I visited. The only downside is that due to import tax, they can't send wine to the UK!

When they came and poured the gin there was barely anything in my cup . To give you a background, most places charge you 5 euros for a drink like this and this place charges 8.50 which is fine if they served it correctly . I have attached pictures of the amount which is 1/4 of what any other place would give you. I asked the waiter to put a little more and he stated he had to ask his boss. He came back and said he would charge me again. I am disgusted and disappointed at the lack of service and the fact that they think people are not smart enough to see what they are doing . I used to refer people to this place all the time, no more . Just because you have a beautiful atmosphere doesn't mean you can rob people, awful!

Bathrooms have luxurious rain head showers. At check-in, we received a book by the hotel on where to eat, drink and what to see in town. Very thoughtful! The courtyard is fantastic. We loved having our wine, breakfast and afternoon coffee outside among the apple & lemon trees while listening to the tranquil fountain. By far, this is the best hospitality I've ever received when traveling. Javier & Roberto went above and beyond during the booking process. Once there, Javier helped us make dinner reservations, answered all our questions, and provided some laughs. I loved their Tarta de Santiago so much, Javier even ordered one for me upon request. You can tell that the employees here are very passionate about the hotel. The hotel is in walking distance to all the main sites. Discounted parking is nearby. Definitely stay here!

I had decided that I was dehydrated and wanted to go back to my hostel and go to sleep (after all, I was still on my Camino sleep pattern). Against my begging and pleading, my camino family and I stopped in Casas after eating dinner. While grumbling and complaining, I found out that their speciality was GIN -- MY FAVORITE. After drinking two glasses of water first, I had a gin and tonic. Big whoop... right? WRONG! I kid you not, this was the best gin and tonic I've had in my entire life. I went back to Casa Das Crechas three more times before our departure back to the states to have this gin and tonic. I've even been asking every bar tender I meet if they have the gin that this bar used. While they did not have a kitchen or small plates to fill an empty stomach, Casa Das Crechas is a great place to sit down and have after dinner drinks while in Santiago.

We went here more than once just to experience their changing menu of the day. You can't do wrong here. The food is great. The drinks are great. And the atmosphere and the waiters are deeply friendly. Plus, if you're a vegetarian or you've missed well-prepared veggies while on the Camino, their vegetable options were a welcomed treat. It might be a bit on the pricier than what you're used to paying on the Camino, but let's be honest you've earned it! Buen Camino!
