We have been to Disneyland in California many times, and one of my absolute favorite things there is the Fantasmic show! So, I was so excited to see it in Florida, where you actually get to have seats and it has it's own amphitheater! Well, we were sorely disappointed. It is no where near as good as we were expecting. This is a fantastic performance great for all ages. As a lifetime Disney fan, it made me very nostalgic, reminding me of all of the old classics I have not seen in a while. One of the best night-time shows in Disney. During busy times, it can fill up fast, but with the new fast pass + system, you can reserve seats for a specific show time. Sitting towards the back is actually a good idea - you have a fantastic view from just about any seat, but sitting towards the back lets you slip out quickly when the show is over. Tip for the wise: the seating is hard metal bleachers and the show is rather long, so bring sweatshirts or blankets to sit on to make sure you're not missing out on the magic when your butt starts to hurt! read more

This is a great show. I had seen it at Disneyland but this one makes that one look like the imitation even if it is the original. The arena for this show is a is built for this show. Not just a standing room only set up like at the DL. The show also seems so much more expansive. Many more effects. Just overall a much better presentation than on the other coast. I would recommend making your way there early as the theater can fill up fast and if this is your only day at Hollywood Studios this is a must do. You don't want to get shut out. This is the evening show at Disney's Hollywood Studios. The time changes with sunset so check on the timing when you get there. Just know that you will need to be there at least 45 min early (even if you have a fastpass) because the place really fills up. I think I was there an hour early and the place was half full. It is held in the biggest venue on property that I remember seeing. It easily holds over 5000 people from the looks of it. I really enjoyed the show, it stands out from the other evening shows at the other parks. This one is multimodal entertainment with live action scenes with characters, smoke, music, fire, boats, fireworks, projection screens, water features, and laser lights. Another reviewer compared it to live action Fantasia and this pretty accurate. I recommend going but if you have small children who scare easily just know that they also dedicate a big portion to villains and this could be a wee bit much for some little ones. There are also loud cannon shots and explosions that could be an issue as well. This is one of the best attractions at the Hollywood Studios! After it finishes make sure you go to the Star Wars Fireworks almost immediately after. A great way to end your day! read more

Fantasmic is by far the best Disney show. If you try for Fast Passes or do a dining package, do it here. Dinner package seating is in the dead center as are the last Passes. General seating fills up towards the center quickly, but the views from the side aren't bad either. The show is fun, features water and fire, and actually tells a decent story. OMG!!! Just saw Fastasmic for the first time and WOW!!! We had fast passes as part of a dining package with Hollywood & Vine so we sat in the Fast Pass area with the thousands of other people who had the same package. We somehow managed to get seats in the third row center so we had an awesome view. I had no idea what to expect but was blown away from the minute the show started. My 3 and 5 years where mesmoraized as well as they show is hosted by Mickey and includes many of their favorite characters (I won't spoil it for those who haven't seen it yet). But I will warn you, It is very loud which should be kept in mind if you lave little tiny ones with you. Also, if you sit close to the front as we did you might get wet. And you also might cry like I did at the end. It was just EVERYTHING!!! I will definitely be watching Fantasmic again on our next Disney trip. read more

Love this show. It's different from the original one, but still awesome. The stadium holds a lot of people so make sure you get there early and have a fast pass of course. There are no back rest to the bench seating there and the benches are made out of metal. Bring some snacks and enjoy the show. read more

Disney knows how to put on a show! Great story line. It's Disney villains v. Mickey Mouse along with some other famous Disney characters in between. The grand finale is when all of the Disney characters come out on a ferry boat. This one might be scary for the kids. The villains they project onto the mist can get pretty frightening. Get the fast pass if you can. Seating fills up fast. Don't sit in the front if you don't want to get wet. We didn't realize that mist can travel so far in the wind. Luckily it was winter, so we had our sweaters in our backpacks. We used them to cover up. read more

Easily my most favorite of the shows in Disney World! We went on a Tuesday night in October as part of a Brown Derby dinner package, EVERY seat was full, and I can see why! The show itself actually starts before the listed time, with a number of audience participation activities. It also gives you a chance to buy light-up mouse ears which will flash in time with the program. First thing they did was a singalong where they pipe in a popular song (which may or may not be Disney), and then ask the audience to continue to sing the lyrics. For this show, they used "Summer Nights" from Grease, "Sweet Caroline" by Neil Diamond, and one Disney song that escapes me...perhaps it was something from Aladdin. Next, they brought individual audience members onto the stage and asked them to do the same things with different songs. The highlight was the 5-year old girl who had to finish the chorus of "Let it Go". I swear, hearing her cute loud voice blast "The Cold Never Bothered Me Anyway!" made all the overdone Disney Frozen hype worth it for that single moment. Then they did a trivia contest between families, easy Disney questions that ended in a tie and everyone got some small prizes. Very much fun! And the show itself is nothing short of spectacular. Clear sound, epic plots, outstanding acting, amazing visual effects, heat you can feel the blast of no matter where you sit, and music both new and old that warms the nostalgia in your heart...it's all there! One word of advice...seat yourself in the last row if you can. No, you won't get chosen to participate, but the view is actually better, it's easier to flag a vendor if you want popcorn, and perhaps most important, you'll be at the head of the crowd when everyone exits at once and makes a beeline for the transit stops. If you're sitting in front and among the last to exit, you could be waiting a LONG time before you get on a bus to go back to your hotel. read more

Sept 2015, Monday night 14th. GET THE FAST PASS way early! Then show up AT LEAST 30-45 min BEFORE your fast pass start time. Seriously its INSANE how full the fast pass line was!! Standby went to standing room only and people who waited in line were turned away!! Colorful, full of action and Disney characters and worth seeing! If there is one thing in Disney World I disliked during our five days visit to all four of Disney World parks, it's this show in Hollywood Studio. I had high hopes for this show and got a fast pass for it because it seems to be a magnificent show from the descriptions and reviews. And yes, it is magnificent, with the lights, the fire, the smoke, the water, etc. But it started to disturb me 1/3 into the show. There are too much of the evil images projected with special effects. About half the show time is about these ugly evil characters. And it was so loud. Fortunately my 7 year daughter got tired and fell asleep when the show started. Otherwise I think she would feel scared. With all the awe striking, magnificent special effects, I didn't enjoy it at all. And please don't bring little children to the show. read more

I'm 19, and came here with my 23 year old brother. Most things in Disney are directed towards young children but Fantasmic kept us on the edge of our seats the ENTIRE 45 minutes. It was incredible!! We sat on the very first row & they are NOT lying when it says "You May Get Wet", we were sprayed the whole show w/ a light mist that wasn't bad at all! It's SOOO worth the show, I loved it! Get there 45-30 min early for a good seat! Bring a jacket if night time, water makes it cold. read more

Was hoping to see it again during a recent visit, but they were having technical difficulties on the day we were in Hollywood Studios and they had to cancel it at the last minute. This is my absolute favorite night show at Disney. Words cannot describe how much I love Fantasmic. As with Disney world itself, Fantasmic starts with a mouse! Mickey comes out in his Sorcerers Apprentice hat and shares his dreams with us. This is shown through live action battle scenes, characters circling the theater on boats, and lights being projected onto a giant water screen. Things get awesome when the Evil Queen comes out and, sick of Mickeys optimistic imagination, decides to call upon Disney villains to turn his dreams into nightmares. We get to see Ursula, Maleficent, Cruella de Vil, Scar, Frollo, Jafar, Hades, and none other than the scariest Disney villain ever, CHERNABOG! After Mickey defeats the villains, we see all of the character pass by on the Steamboat Willie during the finale, which is a great photo-op, It is an incredible show that I have seen dozens of times and plan to see many more! read more

fantasmic is awesome and we loved it at disneyland. that being said even though we had a dining package and reserved seating we did not go because we did not feel like waiting 30 minutes in the thunder and rain only to see if it is cancelled due to rain. so we opted not to go instead. turns out the show did start at 9:30 because we could see the fireworks in our hotel room. i think fantasmic at hollywood studios could be great if weather is not as horrible as it was. they should also give guests the option to have a refund or partial refund if a show is cancelled but there is no such option read more

Best of the Best. This is one of the shows you should never miss regardless your age, is always impressive and fantastic. Loooonng lines, so get there 1 hour before the show in high season and 30 minutes at low season. Get a chocolate chip cookie sandwich at the back store, sit and wait while eating your sweet, then the show start and you would be amaze. read more

Sigh. Whyyyyyyy 2 stars? Because.. it has failed. It has failed me miserably. Walt Disney World.. you built a stadium performance center JUST FOR THIS SHOW.. and you failed to do anything spectacular with it. Let's break this down: 5 stars for Fantasmic, a 20 year long successful show at the Disneyland Resort. +1 star for Stadium seating to accommodate the thousands of spectators. +1 star for fast passes available for this attraction. -1 star for fast passed seating. why fast pass it if we have to sit far and off to the side? isn't that where the other people sit? -1 star for parents that dont know how to control their children (and their own rude behavior) for respecting others' spaces and reserved locations (i got there first, no you cannot have your damned child stand in front of me or make me switch places with you and your son so your son can see better. if you want him to see better, get there earlier! or pick him up yourself!) -1 star for Pocahontas Scene. really? This is weird, and moves slow. And the lake is way too big for them "injuns" to canoe across the lake in a timely manner. -1 star for Maleficent dragon. What in Walt's name is that thing? it looks cheap and not "Disney" quality. also, Mickey fights her from way too far a distance to make it believable. -1 star for Steamboat Willie finale. That is too tiny a boat, for a lake / performance stage of that size and caliber. And far too few characters present, because it's soooo tiny. I don't understand! You are WALT DISNEY WORLD. Your loyal locals claim that this is THE BEST SHOW EVER and You present me with this dinky "steamboat" with like, 6-10 characters on it? What are you doing?!? Disneyland's version is on the Rivers of America, so therefore, they use the Mark Twain Riverboat, so therefore, it's big, and has at least 30-40 characters on it. WHAT ARE YOU DOING!!! You have the ability to be an AMAZING SHOW.. BUT YOU ARE NOT. What a horrible disappointment. IF YOU think this is amazing, and you have never been to DLR, to see the original show, then you MUST make a trip out to see how it's supposed to be done. I've met many people, visitors and annual regulars from both coasts, and everyone agrees that WDW needs to step up their game. We had fast passes and the seats they reserve for fast pass were the farthest to the left so everything happening on the right side we could not see well. What can I say about Fantasmic? It's one of those staple shows you must see while at Hollywood Studios. WARNING: GET THERE EARLY AND GO ON A WEEK DAY! Every time I have gone to this show I have always arrived a bit early and wait about a half hour or so just to be let in to be seatedand it is mobbed! Once I went on a Saturday and NEVER AGAIN! Lol What a nightmare. Anyhow there is a ton of seating, but you have to keep in mind that everyone in the park is headed to see the show and trying to get good seats as well. Fantasmic is a great show! Full of lights and characters, water effects and music. It's a must see for adults and kids. Its about 45 minutes long and usually ends right when the park closes so it's a great way to end the night. Be sure to have your cameras out at the end to snap some photos of all the characters. They also have a few food stands throughout the amphitheater, but they also get mobbed and you end up waiting forever for a beer or pretzel. I would suggest waiting until the vendors come to your seats. Either way you are paying $6 for a beer so you might as well avoid the hassle of the lines right? read more

I will never get tired of seeing this spectacular show! Fire, water, lasers, boat parade, fireworks! The only show that even comes close to being this spectacular is EPCOT'S, but I think this one has that beat. It's in an open air ampitheater, so if you're there on a cool night, bundle up and get cozy (if I remember correctly, they were selling blankets). If it rains, grab a poncho, but just don't miss this show! Show is at the end of the night, and you will positively leave the park in a great mood! We got the VIP dessert and seating. They sat us on a flat platform in the back where we couldn't see the water. When we tried to step up to see better, they made us get down because of safety issues. Sight issues apparently don't matter. Go with the dinner option, the dinner options had wonderful seating. The up top was so bad we left early because we couldn't tell what was going on. This show needs a revamping. The projection onto the water walls goes on too often, is hard to see, and the overall theme is too dark. The Pocahontas stage show part is pointless and boring. The overall show seems scary for most kids; kids around us were crying. Such a great space for a show, but disney fails to adjust or update their shows frequently enough. Only plus was the brightness of the characters on the steamboat at the end. Not worth the crowd. The magic kingdom "celebrate the magic" and "wishes" blow this out of the water. Fantasmic was amazing show. We had lunch at Mama Melrose's which for gave us VIP passes. We had center stage seats. The show was top notch. The most magical part of the night was meeting cast Member, Renee from PA afterwards. She created a magical moment for my kids that truly touched my heart. She is an amazing lady and someone I won't forget. As a former Cast Member 20 years ago for her to give my kids a special gift was wonderful and meant a great deal to me. My 14 year old son said I want to do that for someone someday. My heart is full. Thank you Disney and Renee!!! read more

Its an amazing show with tons of lights/ (some fire) and all the Disney character were present (either acting out or displayed through a projection in a water fountain. For our last night in Disney, I got to see this awesome close out performance! It was such a great show! They have these waterfalls cascading up that they use as a screen and show scenes from movies in bubbles! There is also a show/reenactment of famous movie scenes with great design of the characters! It is a lot of fun to see and I loved the steamboat at the end with all the Disney princess' and their beaus! Great showing! Must see! read more

One of my favorite Disney shows it's a must see. It's amazing to see how many movies and characters they can fit into a single show. Visually stunning special effects, the best Disney songs, and a wonderful story about the power of dreams. The stadium is gigantic but still not big enough to hold everyone in the park.
