I was searching for a little spring. I had little confidence this tiny place would have what I needed. I walked into the store and maneuvered down the cramp aisles. An employee (maybe the owner) comes over to help me. I tell him what I need and he pulls out the board displaying the springs and rifles through the drawer to find me what I needed. Then he charges me 50¢. And then when I said get him next time. I told him I didn't live there. He said whenever. Wow! People still do stuff like that? So I walked out to my truck, dug around in my backpack and found 50¢ to bring back inside.

He returned to work this week and thanked us for the arrangement. I asked how it looked? He said it was pretty. I said that I was curious about how they had done the arrangement with the basket. That's when he looked confused. He told me the flowers had arrived in a vase. I was surprised so I showed him what the picture on the website looked like - that's when he told me that they were silk flowers, not fresh! I was so embarrassed - and quite upset! We had paid just under $100 (including delivery and service fees) for a fresh cut arrangement in a basket - and then find out that what was delivered was an arrangement of silks in a vase. I can understand substituting one fresh cut flower for another if you need to - but not silks for fresh! No one from the shop had even bothered to let us know! We called the shop and was told that they were just too busy to send what we had ordered. I'm guessing that this must have been an arrangement that was already assembled and convenient... We asked why they didn't at least call us to see if the substitution was okay? At least give us a chance to cancel the order if they couldn't fulfill it? The response was again, "we are just too busy". (Not even an apology!) Then the lady said that we were going to have to talk to the owner and she would be in the next day. So, my co-worker read over the info on the website and realized that it is actually a FlowerNetwork site that had a service number as well. Upon calling them and telling them what happened, we were immediately issued a refund. This should have been the end of it. Unfortunately, it wasn't. A few hours later, the shop called me to ask for the flowers to be returned. I told her that there was no way we were going to ask for them back - it was already embarrassing enough that they had sent something much less nice than we had ordered! What's more, the flowers would have to be shipped back at this point because their shop is not local to us, so now they are asking us to be out money for their bad decision? What a terrible business practice - terrible experience - and terrible service all around.

I've been buying Carhartt and Dickies for the last several years. But, it's usually pretty expensive. Brown Duck Outlet has Carhartt coats, pants, overalls, and belts marked way down. They also carry Dickies and a few other workwear brands, but are largely a Carhartt shop. They're usually irregulars, but if you're using them outside on the job, who really cares? Pretty comparable to Sierra Trading Post's pricing, but you can try before you buy here. They also carry Red Wing Shoes, and a couple of other work boot brands. If they don't have your size or style, they claim they can get it. If you're in the area, hit this place up! I'll definitely be back.
