Fallsview Park is located along the Saint John River, and is a part of the Stonehammer UNESCO Global Geopark. This was one of the stops that we could get off at with our Big Pink Bus hop on hop off tour. Our visit here was on October 3, 2019.
Fallsview Park is a great place to view the Saint John River and the Reversing Falls. Unlike the Skywalk at the restaurant, there is no cost to visit this park. There is a lot of space available to look at the river and see the flows.
I stopped here in the afternoon as the river was in the reverse direction, with the waters going up river into the Bay of Fundy. The views here are stunning and unobstructed. Even though you see some industrial buildings, you can easily forget that part of it and just check out the rushing waters of the river. You can easily get lost in time just listening to the moving waters. There are signs with some history and such about the area as well. During the visit, we also got to see a few seals coming in and out of the river as well.
Overall, this was a great place to view the rapids of the Saint John River. Although I wasn't able to come at different tide times throughout the day, it was still a great sight to see. Nature at its finest. If your travels take you to Saint John, this is the place to come and check out the reversing rapids. read more
