Be aware of Fall Real Estate, Hobart, particularly when renting. They offered us nothing but poor communication, rudeness and an unwillingness to fix serious problems with the house. A severe leak in our loungeroom took 9 months to get fixed. When our balcony had rotted and was collapsing, we informed them and rather than fix it they simply nailed the doors shut, so we unable to use the balcony for some time. It took a legal notice for them to bother fixing it. All the while, they would inspect the house every 3 months, often giving us a pedantic list of pre-existing issues. At the end of the lease, Fall made a false claim to the Rental Board. They said they had provided us with an inspection report at the beginning and end of the lease (which they had not). They falsely described the condition of the house and provided inspection reports that we had not seen, let alone signed. They then attempted to take our entire bond, plus extras! They were unsuccessful, of course. They received nothing. In fact, WE received an extra $700 because, after a change in tenant, they had been receiving extra money from us each week, and chose not to tell us. Overall, they were deceitful, lazy and thoroughly unprofessional. Just to add to their fun and games, one agent made offensive, racist comments about my housemates, who were from no-anglo backgrounds, saying - 'these people don't understand how we live'.
