We visited the Jumbo grocery store on the bottom floor for all our basic needs. They have a wide selection of American brand stores like GAP, old navy & Starbucks and also their own department stores like Ripley (similar to a Macys). This mall does have a small souvenir kiosk on the very bottom floor where we found key chains and magnets. Other than that there were no other stores we could find that sold Chile souvenirs. The restrooms were clean also. At the food court area, the workers would wipe the tables and empty the full trash bins. They were working efficiently. No matter your budget, you can find something reasonable. For Uber, the pick up spot is near the Hard Rock Cafe entrance.

Took and uber there and walked back - the walk is not boring as you are on big streets and there's always something to see be it restaurants, shops or parks. The mall has 6 levels and the top is the viewing deck. We gave that a pass as it costs close to $20/pp and overhead views are just overrated. You can see the view of the city when you fly in and out of Santiago and also from Santa Lucia Hill closer to the old part of town and is free (although not as high up). Anyway it's interesting to see the contrast of the newer richer part of town in comparison with the old part. Otherwise the mall just has some huge supermarkets, mostly clothing stores and a very expansive food court with the familiar fast food chains and restaurants. We ended up having a late lunch at Crepe Cafe which is not bad (the food, some staff not so much). The food court has a lot of seating including outdoors although in the afternoon it's sunny on the terrace so can be very hot in summer But would be great in winter.

This review is for Almacenes Paris in Portal La Dehesa…read more I visited this store with my Mom last night, 1/26/18, to return a gift and to purchase additional gifts and items for my return trip to the US. I spent in excess of $200. The service throughout the store is fair but the people they have operating the store's registers are lazy and disrespectful beyond words. As I was shopping my hands were full of items, some heavy. I asked the register attendant to please hold my items for a brief moment, that I was purchasing everything that was handing to her, but that I needed to continue to find other items and needed to be hands-free. The lady at the register refused. Maybe that's store policy? I asked the attendant what people do when buying so many items and she responded that I could find a shopping cart upstairs. They had none so my mom, a 75 year old woman who had difficulty walking, had to help me carry my items while I continued shopping. We returned to the same register to checkout (a long counter with three attendants and an older lady wearing glasses who wasn't doing much). My Mom purchased two items and checked out with a young gentlemen that was a delight. I, on the other hand, was checking out right next to her but had the opposite experience. A young girl that all she did was complain to the older lady with the glasses sitting next to her that she wanted to go home and told me that she didn't have a single bag to give out so that I could take the items I purchased. They obviously had bags as my Mom got them from the attendant next to me. Finally she said that she could sell small paper bags to me for 200 pesos each and looked at me with so much hate as she offered them. The older lady sitting next to her contributed more hate to the conversation and told me that in Argentina the same was true. I responded, "what does Argentina have to do with this?".... Ugh. I was so upset at this point. I am not even Argentinean! I've lived in the United States for 32 years and work in customer service... and my company strives in excellence in customer service. It infuriates me to see lousy service anywhere. I will never recommend the store to anyone. I plan to go back to the store with my receipt today to return every single item that I purchased. They told me that I have 10 days (I would have returned everything last night but they were ready to close). I can't help to feel guilty about keeping the items and support a establishment that does not strive to provide a great customer service experience, so a return is a must. Such poor management of this store and its employees! A few bad seeds like these people create the wrong picture and a bad reputation for all Chileans.
