I am writing to formally report a concerning incident involving discrimination against my service animal that occurred during my stay at the Fairfield Inn and Suites by Marriott Scottsbluff, located at 902 Winter Creek Drive, Scottsbluff, NE 69361. On 05/05/25, while I was seated in the dining area where I had been for several hours, a staff member approached me during breakfast service and asked me to leave the area with my task-trained service dog. When I inquired about where I should eat instead, I was directed to either sit in the lobby seating area or at the business center. This occurred despite my having previously explained--both at check-in and again during this incident--that my animal is a service dog, not a pet. The staff member claimed that my removal from the dining area was "for the other guests" and referenced a document I had signed at check-in. However, the document in question pertains to pets, not service animals, which are protected under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). Throughout my time in the dining area, my service dog was properly positioned under the table and out of the way, as required by proper service animal handling protocols. This incident was not only extremely embarrassing, as I was forced to gather my belongings and relocate in front of other guests, but it also represents a violation of my rights under the ADA. According to the ADA, businesses that serve the public generally must allow service animals to accompany people with disabilities in all areas of the facility where the public is normally allowed to go. Stayed here for the night while passing through Scottsbluff and we were pleasantly surprised! The hotel staff was very friendly, the room was clean, breakfast was extensive, we felt safe, and the pool and outdoor area were a great perk! Our only cons were that our towels definitely had seen better days and the walls were pretty thin, we could hear other guests alarms going off in the morning. Otherwise a great hotel! read more

Checked in Sunday evening. We were asked my the lady Checking us in if we wanted housekeeping everyday or every other day as we stayed four nights. Guess how many days housekeeping cleaned our room? If you guessed more than ZERO then you failed the test. We also requested for towels from the desk. Five is how many we asked for and we were given three one day and four another day because "we can't give you more than four"!!! Well we have five people and are staying in the suite. Still a no. We had to go to the store to purchase towels. Also, we needed toilet paper. Response, " we are out of toilet paper, let me see if there is any in the public restroom. Guess there wasn't any because we didn't get any more toilet paper until day three. Seriously, how is this acceptable to anyone? If you are staying one night then it is a decent place. Lovely hotel right off the road, It is located at the north end of Scottsbluff. It seems to be a fairly new (or very well maintained older) hotel. It is right of 26 and fairly easy to get to. There is plenty of parking. Check in was fast and easy and the staff was very professional and friendly. The room was clean and very well appointed. Their business center and eating area are located across from the check-in desk. The entire hotel looks wonderful. If you want a great place to stay in Scottsbluff, this is it. read more

I have been traveling to Scotsbluff since last year for work and always stay at this hotel. The staff are friendly and the hotel is very clean. When I checked in yesterday they had a Birthday card, water and a bag of snacks in my room wishing me a happy birthday. Which was a great surprise they also remembered that I like extra towels and face cloths (I didn't remember to request them when I booked on my app). They are so sweet. The hotel offers a happy hour with wine, beer and light snacks. Great place to stay. read more

I've been staying at Marriotts for years and I have never written a review for them before, but the woman who checked us in last night was so helpful and enthusiastic about the local area that I have to give her a shout out even though I didn't catch her name. She asked what brought us here. When I told her that my daughter and her friends had never been to Nebraska, she made us a list and told us about each place and the history of the area. Among the recommendations were Scottsbluff National Monument, Chimney Rock (both important on the Oregon Trail), Runza (a fast food place that serves a cabbage burger from their German heritage), and the Gering Bakery (which having been featured on The Bachelorette caught Andrea's attention). We had a great time in Scottsbluff! Thank for for the recommendations. Also, specifically about the hotel: the breakfast and the beds and bedding were exceptional. read more

Were to start? The bedroom/ living area was clean with accessible viewing of televisions. The bathroom was another deal, hard water has left it's mark in the room I stood in and clean was the word to use. The walls are extremely thin, you can here the next room occupants really clearly. They bunch up everyone together also so I guess house keeping doesn't have to mover around to much. I don't think anyone at this hotel ever stood a night in it or cares for peace and quiet while trying to rest for the next day. read more

For the most part the room was clean. However, there were problems with other parts of our stay. 1) the room was 54 degrees some idiot left the window opened (it was 10pm and the outside temp was in the low 50's. 2) there were 2 tissues left in the tissue box so that was out ASAP. 3) housekeeping clearly did not do their job because inside the closet was someone's tacky shag vest that was left behind. Probably on purpose! 4) the Keurig fill well was caked with a white film (I'm assuming it's eiither hard water, salt or lime) that was totally gross. 5) the shower was completely covered in spots and there was pink soap scum stains that stained the sealant. The biggest problem was the stupid room was located right above the front doors so ANYTIME (middle of the night first thing in the morning) the doors open it rumbles in your room. There arent a lot of choices in this town to stay so if you do make sure you don't get stuck with the room above the front entrance. Or just stay elsewhere! read more

Our group travels frequently through here and we always liked how spacious and clean the rooms were but that has changed. The last few times that we have stayed here we have seen a trend that the rooms are not being fully cleaned or cleaned properly. The showers are loaded with hard water stains and have even found hairs on the soap dispensers. This last visit I opted for the twin queen suite thinking that maybe there would be a difference since it was a nicer room. Not so. More hairs on the soap. Stains on the walls and light above the mirror. The shower head was so bad on hard water stains that the only way to get good pressure was to adjust the shower head to the straight stream center option. So your choice was either low flow or a jet of water coming at you. There was even a missing curtain over the window which I think was more there to hide the other curtains when pulled back but still made it look low class for a suite. Still a decent hotel compared to super 8s and others but when you're priced with the nicer hotels, cleaning should be a high priority especially with covid protocols. read more

Finally switching and staying at another much newer and nicer hotel. What a fantastic hotel located in the Nebraska panhandle! You can see it right off of U.S. 26 on the north side. Upon check-in, the staff was friendly, helpful and efficient. The rooms here are comfortable and quiet with the great mattress that Fairfield Inns are known for. The free wi-fi is super easy to log on, and is fast; great for the business traveler. There's a good sized fitness room on the first floor with treadmills, a couple of elliptical machines and some free weights. The indoor pool looks good too. The outside patio area has two gas fire pits. They weren't on when I was there but I imagine they will be great when they're in use. The complimentary breakfast has "make your own" waffles, Chobani Greek yogurt and oatmeal. This is along with bacon, scrambled eggs and assorted juices. The coffee is pretty good too. I will definitely stay here again when visiting the Scottsbluff/Gering area. read more

Upon entry staff very unwelcoming. And grumpy. Pool and hot tub freezing and no warning that it was broken. Use of common area to watch a game was not great. When hotels are considered memorable, it's usually for the wrong reasons: broken beds, bugs crawling out of wall cracks, and all that. Otherwise, hotel stays mostly seem like an unexciting necessity. The Scottsbluff Fairfield is a major exception. It's memorable for all the right reasons: quiet, clean, arranged in a way that is comprehensible. Even the art on the wall was interesting, for crying out loud. And the TV had Netflix, so I could sit in my well-decorated room and binge Stranger Things. Overall, an awesome experience! read more

Not what you would expect in Scottsbluff. A lovely hotel, with friendly, accommodating staff. The rooms were very clean and spacious. The beds were comfy and the space was quiet. The Keurig coffee machines in each room was nice so we could bring our own k-cups of the flavors we like, although they had a wide variety available. Each room also has a microwave and small refrigerator. Complimentary breakfast was very nice and had good options. The patio outside with tables and fire pits was wonderful and inviting for the summer nights. The pool was a little small but big enough for the kids to burn off a little energy. The fitness center was amazing for the size of the hotel. Multiple treadmills, ellipticals, and free weights. Each machine had its own tv. The only thing the fitness center didn't have was fans to cool off. After a long run on the treadmill, fans would have been nice. The front desk staff was pleasant, professional and accommodating. Second Scottsbluff hotel I've stayed in. Fairfield was just being built the last time we were in town and my sister booked a room the night of her wedding so we decided to stay here as well. I was a bit skeptical upon walking in because it seemed like a huge family gathering/child's birthday was being held in the lobby area and it was very rowdy, but my room was very quiet and clean and the bathroom was huge! Wonderful water pressure and a quirky, but appreciated feature was that a lot of the furniture seamed to be movable. The lamps, the desk, they were either lightweight and portable or had wheels so you could move them where you needed them. The breakfast was great - we had biscuits and sausage gravy one morning and it was pretty good! Hampton down the street offers a wider range of creamers for coffee and a bigger tea selection, but the breakfast was great. My only complaints are: the curtains did not block out the sunlight at all. I had the 'blackout' shades closed, but sunlight woke me up quite early. This, and the minifridge was very confusing. It seemed to have only two settings: Off for 8 hours? and a button that turns it on for a 2 hour period. So we had fruit and cheese in the fridge, but we had to toss it because I'm pretty sure the fridge did not work. I don't know why the fridges are designed this way, but please either provide instructions on how to override this, or provide real minifridges. read more
