It's run out of a house in a residential Brunswick neighbourhood, and from the moment you step inside you can tell that it's a different kind of dental practice. Dr Helen Arabatzis and her staff are caring, friendly and professional and will do everything they can to make you feel at ease. They practice a 'less is more' philosophy with a focus on prevention, and will not insist on invasive dental work unless it is absolutely necessary. Eg, I had a few smallish spots of decay that another dentist had insisted required fillings (and the cost of several hundred dollars), but Dr Arabatzis said that it would be better to monitor them and put in some sealants to prevent further decay. Two years later, they haven't changed, and I still haven't needed fillings. Hooray! Let's face it, going to the dentist isn't something anyone looks forward to. But with their laid-back family practice vibe, fantastic facilities, and patient-first treatment practices, Brunswick Family Dental is as good as it gets!

However when I sat on the chair, all my dentist nightmare came true, dentist hand wasn't so gentle even though I only came to book wisdom teeth removal. If your dentist is dismissive of your request to go under general anaesthetic, and ignored xray by prev dentist that shows one of these wisdoms touching a nerve (without even checking it further), you walk out of there and you don't come back. Facilities are of course modern, clean and the dentists are all fine. There is usually some early 90's hip hop and last 90's top 30 tunes playing in the reception - this counts for a lot and got at least one star of this rating. Reception staff are usually a bit grumpy (based off 3 different staff I've met) but I've come to expect this. Location is convo eminently near public transport, Carlton gardens and lots of Cafes to have post-dentist coffees. All up, they do their job and are like most health practitioners in Australia - well trained and professional. I'm just a little over waiting for long times when I shouldn't have to. If you are never in a rush, maybe come here.

I was extremely happy with the level of service we received. Dr Tiffany is absolutely lovely and used her warm personality to help us through some fairly intensive calculus removal! Her assistant (who's name I have forgotten) was also lovely. We had booked in for the check up, X-ray and clean deal under private health insurance - it ended up costing us $150 each outside the gap but for the work that Dr Tiffany did (and considering we both had had a very significant lapse in visiting the dentist) that seemed to me as being a good price. My husband will be returning for fillings, and we will also be returning regularly to keep our teeth in order from now on! What a pleasure to find such a great health supplier! I would not hesitate to recommend my dental group and happy to leave this review

Five stars. We went…read morehere for part of my daughters procedure and I was so pleased with the time we spent here. We had a consult with Dr Kestenberg and he was so in depth we knew exactly what was happening and what we were in for. He gave us all the information and armed us with exactly what he was going to do and when. I got to watch the surgery from directly above and his work was precise, clean and efficient. Afterwards we got led to another room where he watched her and made sure what she was doing was normal and checked how we all felt about the whole thing. Highly recommend him, a feeling of ease at times like these are what is needed!

The bloke who cleaned and checked my teeth today was excellent - for one reason above all - he explained why everything was happening and why my teeth are the way they are etc. It was not only a dental appointment, but an educational session too! I felt like I learnt more about my teeth and gums today than Ive ever learnt in my life!
