Excellent Straight Razor Shave & Service…read more We had a great experience at Cigar City Barber Shop. We booked somewhat last-minute while traveling and weren't familiar with the area, but it ended up being completely worth it. The service was extremely professional from start to finish. The straight razor shave was excellent -- they used peppermint oil and coconut oil, which felt incredibly soothing and refreshing on the skin. You can tell they take pride in the details. The haircut was also very well done, clean, and precise. This was the day before our wedding, so it was important to us to get it right, and they absolutely delivered. Overall, a great establishment with high-quality service. We're so glad we took the chance booking here and would definitely recommend it.

I came in as a walk in and waited 40 minutes- fair enough…read more After waiting, a barber told me another barber was ready and had a bad feeling once I had turned around. I did not want to be rude, so I thought to myself "okay, let's give her a shot". To make it a long story short, not close. Showed her a reference photo, asked for a little off the top, 2 on the sides, and a taper on the back. Online- says $35- I get told my haircut is $45 because it varies per barber so * be warned * for a haircut that was under 30 minutes. The low taper on the back was good. I normally don't leave bad reviews, I had to download Yelp to leave this here. I'm pretty frustrated because I look uneven from the front, my sides are different, and I had to pay 50 after tip for a mid cut. Actually, I'm pretty pissed.

Just a few I hear: "something sticking up in the back", "it's too short", "too long", "they're only open when I'm at work", "it's an hour wait on weekends", "way overpriced", etc....So I was in utter shock when he finally came home pleased with his visit to Cass Street Barber Lounge WITHOUT A SINGLE COMPLAINT! More importantly (at least to me) is that unlike nearly every other competitor in the area, Brian has decided to jump into the 21st century and provides for online booking. While this is a seemingly small and obvious detail, it's very uncommon, yet incredibly valuable for the vast majority of us who work M-F between 9-5 and don't have the time to sit for hours in a waiting room on our weekends. I also have a young, rambunctious toddler who is regularly in need of haircuts but most kid places book up and I have to schedule way in advance and they are way too expensive so I asked my husband if Brian would be willing to cut our son's hair. He was totally up to the task and my little boy came home looking very dapper yesterday for $12!!! We are going to be loyal customers.

It completely ruined the style I had been growing out, and over a month later my hair still hasn't grown back to where it was. On top of that, I had to pay for a haircut I was very unhappy with. In my experience, I wouldn't recommend this barbershop if you care about getting a precise haircut or maintaining your hairstyle. I'd rather pay a little more somewhere else for a barber I can trust. If you're considering coming here, I'd recommend doing your research first and choosing carefully.
