Before my big day, Monca J held a consultation with me where we reviewed pictures of brides whose makeup I loved. After reviewing the pictures, she did my makeup as if it was my wedding day (including lashes!!!). She wrote down a list of the makeup she used and took pictures so she could repeat my look on my wedding day. I was very impressed! On the day of my wedding, Monca J arrived at the venue before I did and her makeup station was completely set up. She also knew I loved gospel music, so she brought her iPod and played gospel while she did my makeup to relax me. Monca J was very professional and even my hair stylist was impressed with her work. After my makeup was complete, she gave me a little gift bag with lipstick, tissue, and a press pad just in case I needed a little touch up. I also asked her if she wouldn't mind staying with me until the reception started, because I'm a cry baby and I knew I may mess up my makeup lol. She agreed and I'm so happy she did. She was able to touch me up before the photographer took our family photos. Lastly, the reviews from my friends and family were very positive! Setting up an appointment with Monca was VERY easy. She responded right away and only required half of the total as a down payment to book the appointment. She was in constant communication with from the time I requested the appointment to let me know what to expect and up to the appointment with reminders. She was the nicest person to work with!!! I really didn't have an idea of what I wanted for my makeup so I just let her do her thing. I took pictures of my outfit and explained the type of party I was attending and she took it away from there. She did a fabulous job and I received a million comments on my makeup that day and the next day from my Facebook pictures. I went in knowing that my hair was damaged, and likely needed more cut off than I felt comfortable cutting. After the gentle, non-judgmental way that Melanie listened to me intently and gave feedback and suggestions, I knew that I could trust her. And I'm sooo glad that I did. Quick tip: as of May 2018, I know she was still working on perfecting certain kinds of coloring. She will be honest about what she's good at. I had a special request, and she did what it took to make me happy, even though it took a couple tries (she warned me it wasn't her specialty, but I still wanted her to do it, lol).
