I think the owners must have been health and safety officers in the past as there are a lot of funny rules which have to rigidly adhered to, and there are unsightly signs all over the place which can ruin a great photo (the staff should make sure they dont get in the photos either - pretty obvious you would have thought). Things to be aware of as they will cost you yet more money are the requirement to have wedding insurance, the fact that they insist you have to use their in house DJ, and that you have to use one of their approved caterers, none of which come cheap either. That said, the caterers were of a high standard and overall it is a good venue.

The owners do require you to have cancelation insurance for obvious reasons. We had a jukebox because that was what my daughter wanted. Nobody suggested we would have to have a house DJ. The owners displayed an attitude best expressed as 'tell us what you want and we will do our best to supply it'. This attitude was reflected in the service provided by all of the staff.

I used the caterers for my wedding in June 2009. They are certainly not the cheapest (but not the…read moremost expensive either) you will find, but are one of the best. The food was of excellent quality and all staff extremely professional. They came up with interesting menu options and were able to tweak them so that we got it exactly how we wanted it. We were so pleased that we chose these guys to do the food for us and would definately use them again (hopefully not for another wedding) and reccomend them to our friends.

On the day I didn't even see the pew ends, too busy looking at everyone, but I have now seen them in photos and they looked lovely! I was also really pleased with the table decs, when Matt and I arrived at the venue we went straight to the marquee to have a look and the whole marquee looked amazing. Gaynor also decorated our cake with beautiful lilac roses and transformed a cheap and simple M&S cake into a stunning wedding cake. We highly recommend Gaynor for your floral needs for any occasion. I believe it's also a golf course. They had about 150 guest and I felt it was perfect amount of people for the space. I also believe they had to bring in their own caterer.

It has lovely gardens, with a little lake and the function venue in a sort of low barn and conservatory, where they take care of the service, meal and dancing, expertly shifting between each stage of the day without any of the guests noticing. The lawn is walled in and dotted with cherry blossom trees, and with pretty little love seats and wrought iron benches making for perfect wedding photos. It's not geared towards anything absolutely huge - the capacity for dinner was about 80, and 150 for drinking and dancing later on. They're quite flexible about what services you use, with a selection of caterers for you to choose from. Also on the site is a very dinky little cottage, and it is here that the bride can get ready prior to the wedding ceremony, and where the couple can spend their first married night. I think this is quite a nice touch, and it's a realy clean, cosy little house. All in all, a very nice venue, and one worth checking out if you're in the early planning stages of a wedding!

The team were professional, easy to deal with and came with an endless supply of great ideas and practical suggestions. They specialise in high-end weddings and events, but given the service we got, with no hassle at all, they are great value for money. We finally tracked down some people and made sure they will help us deal with the wedding. The nicest thing about this venue is it's like an all in one everything gets done for you. The caterers here are amazing. The food will definitely be worth it and all your guests will go home stuffed to the brim. They also have preferred chair cover hires, draping, DJ, toastmaster all thrown in. Which is fantastic and gives you less things to stress over your wedding. The location is fantastic. There are huge ponds and bridges and grass and forestry outside and you will see mini rabbits and ducks and random wildlife. Even though it rained on my actual wedding day the indoors were large enough to cater for over 100 guests. They really let you use most of the rooms at the venue that weren't booked out. We changed our reception room last minute and decorated our main dining area the night before. Beware that the accommodation here used to be catered for university students so you don't really get a honeymoon suite or anything, but it's a short walk to the venue itself. One word of warning: Our coffee/teas got charged to us in the morning of the venue hire for some reason. Noone told me they weren't included!
