I had breakfast to stay here twice while in Stockholm over Easter weekend 2017. The café had convenient hours, being open at 8 AM when many other cafés were closed or opening late for the holidays. It was right across the street from the Odenplan metro station.
This location was nicely set up, with lots of pastries on display and a good amount of seating on the 2nd floor (there were a few tables on the 1st floor). There was also a bit of outdoor seating, but as it was freezing the weekend I visited, no one was sitting outside. The stairs are a bit precarious to navigate, especially if you're carrying your pastries and hot beverages, but it wasn't too bad. The tables and chairs were pretty clean both times I visited, and the woman behind the counter was polite and spoke fluent English. The pastry names were shown in Swedish but it wasn't hard to tell what they were, and the woman working there was happy to explain what was what in English.
Over the course of my 2 breakfasts I tried the cinnamon bun, the saffron bun, the cardamom bun, the apricot yogurt, and the coconut yogurt. All of them were really tasty; my favorite was the cinnamon bun. The cardamom bun was very sticky but still really yummy. The first day I got coffee, which was fine. The second day I got tea, which came in a large tea sachet that sort of hung out over the side of the cup; I don't know if the sachet was doing some weird draining thing or if my cup had a hole in it, but about half of my tea wound up in a big puddle around my teacup and saucer, which was strange. Other than that I was happy with my food both mornings. The yogurts were really great (although I don't think the coconut flavored yogurt is actually made from coconut milk, just regular milk--for some reason I got the impression from another Fabrique location review on Yelp that some people thought it was coconut milk yogurt).
Two pastries + 1 yogurt + 1 hot beverage came out to be about $15 USD each morning, which was pretty steep, so I would keep that in mind when ordering. The 2nd morning I was there, there was only 1 pain au chocolat left and a few croissants; it didn't look like they were replenished at all while I was there, although it's possible they didn't make more because it was the holidays. There were some interesting looking chia seed yogurts and smoothies on display, although I didn't get a chance to try them. Overall, a nice, if slightly pricy, place to pick up some Swedish pastries and breakfast! read more
