Unfortunately I ran into the same issues as everyone else. Salesman was great and then the communication all stoped once I signed the contract. To top it all off they, failed inspection 3xs, and tried blaming PG&E for my solars not being active. I installed my solars since 04/2022. Since 2022 I've been stuck with a huge true up bill and my solar loan. My yearly true up bills have both been over 6k. I called Flex endless times and was always told it was not their problem. If I decided to obtain an attorney, "oh well", but the bill was my responsibility. I requested a copy of my contact in which they gave me a hard time to provide. I kinda left the situation alone for a bit as I felt dumb and defeated. I came into terms there was simple nothing I can do. Coincidentally I came across some solar company "trying to help me", sometime in April/May 2024. By this time I had already done my digging on Flex and knew who the CEO was. Well the "big guy " of this company reached out to me directly as I had a huge problem and he wanted to help. He even came to my house. That's when I notice Brandon Fish! the same Brandon Fish who was the CEO of Flex Energy is currently the CEO of Lyte Energy. He basically closed Flex and now operates with Lyte Energy. Brandon came over while I was out working, and my husband assisted him. I recognized him as soon as I looked at my doorbell camera during my lunch. Of course I called his cellphone and left him a very nice voicemail. I was quickly blocked, and back to a dead end. Maybe a month ago some solar guy came to ask about our panels. We told him our situation and he asked to see our contract. Upon him reviewing it, he informed us Flex is basically a sub contractor, and showed us who the actual solar company was. We contacted the solar company and as of today 1/29/25 they connected us to the grid. Please look at your contact under the page "PURCHASE & INSTALL AGREEMENT" right underneath it, it'll say who is the contractor. Contact them and have them make it right! They never answer calls. They install solar panels and start charging, but the approval process to start producing takes way too long. So we are paying for solar panels and PGE. Fo yourself a favorite and go with other companies. This might be just a couple dollars cheaper, but not worth it. read more

Great sales pitch. Horrible at everything else. I have numerous messages for a call back we paid alot of money to get solar panels and to find out we have never produced any power. Hello everyone, I previously left a review that is very similar to all of yours. I decided to resolve this with the financing company since I was not able to do so with the actual company and they disconnected their phones. I decided to come back and see if I can help anyone get out of this nightmare. My system was installed in April 2022 and it NEVER produced until I decided to take matters into my own hands and hired a separate contractor to finish the work this company didn't do and my panels are finally producing. The contractor I paid charges an appraisal fee, but I was able to negotiate for the financing company to pay for it and whatever repairs were necessary. I just reported them to the Nevada State Contractors Board. I've never, ever done this to any business. I'm not young so yeah, this company is terrible to work with. They just need to finish the paper work with the county. They won't do it leaving me with solar panels that I cannot benefit from. It's been almost a year since we signed the contract, and 6 months since panels were installed. Still no permit. Please do your homework, get other bids, and read these complaints as they are real. I am writing again as I see the 'owner' says pretty much the same to anyone that gives a bad rating. Truth is - customer service is the worst a company could provide! The guys that come out say one thing, you never see them again NOR do they answer text messages or phone calls!! I trusted what the sales guys were telling me (and more than once I was very unsure). A friend of mine shared the same concerns you are going through. The solar panels do not work and she is being billed by the financing company and also SCE for electricity. She has been ghosted by the Flex Solar Energy. I feel horrible for her and am also upset about it. Beware: Do NOT Hire them please. STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY!!! They will take your money and do the work, but their follow-through sucks as far as getting the inspection done to finalize things. The crew did not leave the plans or paperwork for the inspector when he showed up. There is no customer support! We have had this solar installed since February and it's almost October and we still have not gotten our system finalized so we are not receiving any credit from SCE for the overproduction of our system! So for eight months, SCE has been getting electricity from us for FREE for our overproduction! We are not getting credit for it!! At this point we do not know what to do. read more

I signed up in September. It's almost May and I still do not having solar panels working. They are incompetent and completely unreliable. my panels were installed in march. Flex said I needed a panel upgrade. they finally showed up in august ..tore a huge hole in the side of my house...never did the upgrade. Hole is still there..panels are still not hooked up. can't get a response from anyone... salesperson or customer service. every time I call all representatives are on the line with someone else. I think it's time all of us who've had these issues and are still having issues... should get together and file a law suit. Several kids from my area have worked for flex and been promised their pay was coming for over a year now. Very small amounts trickle in but not nearly what they are owed. These are young kids who are just trying to make an honest living. Flex is refusing to pay them what they earned. It is despicable. I hope they join forces and file a collective lawsuit. We got our solar rep and was so helpful and responsive when we was signing up. We was even given incentives for sign on bonus and well as a Referral bonus if we had someone sign up and get solar. After our friend got solar we never was rewarded with the bonus and this rep don't even work there anymore so the Flexsolar company wont honor it. They wont even honor the sign in bonus. The inly reason we signed up was the Rep promised such good incentives. Moreover our panels had been up for a year and we have been paying for them come to find out they never was turned on. A whole year! We acquired a new years worth of True up bill and we are stuck paying for that as well. This company will not honor what they promised and the customer service after contracts are signed is worst I've ever experienced. I feel like this will turn into a legal matter for FLEX ENERGY LLC. My husband did some work with the owner as my husband is in the home sales business. He was sold on the 0% financing to purchase our solar panels. Work started in late September and panels were on the house by the end of October. We didn't pass inspection in late November due to a wire hanging down. Someone came to fix it on late December and we didn't pass inspection again in January due to the SAME wire hanging down. Finally we passed inspection late February, and here we are in mid April, still waiting. I have been paying my Solar panel bill since December, along with a PG&E bill ranging $200-600 a month. I wish we would have gone with a more reliable company that would have made sure to get the job done in a timely manner. read more

Sales reps would answer their phones before the second ring. A+ service until I signed the contract. Sales rep never answered my calls or texts ever again as soon as I signed. Can never get a hold of anybody at the office. Installed the panels on the wrong side of the roof under a tree. Took a month to get them to move them to the spot I was told they were going to be. 5 months later and still not connected. I love the salesperson, Matthew. He's great, but the company sucks. My furniture and ceiling are ruined because of their jobs, and they tried to blame us. We never had any leaks until they installed the solar panels. Calls, emails, nothing is solved. It's been a few months now, and it's not even working. They tried blaming it on PG&E, but when we called PG&E, they said Flex just sent them the paperwork. I guess I have to wait a year to get the solar system to work. STAY. AWAY. Would not recommend this company for anyone looking to install solar. We had significant issues with this company. As many other reviews state, the salesman who signed us up was great. He answered phone calls and texts immediately. As soon as we signed and it was transferred to the execution team, HORRIBLE customer service and several layers of incompetence. - Poor communication (no emails, texts, schedules). I had to call the corporate office daily to get any movement on scheduling crews for work. Even the corporate office in Utah could not get movement with the Bakersfield team. And they have no mode of escalation; I only ever spoke to the help desk on the corporate number. They kept promising me "someone" would call and it never happened. - Poor execution - do not let them on your property without supervision. The panels were scoped to go on an ACCESSORY building on the property but they permitted for the house. If we had not been on site, they would have installed them incorrectly. They came to the property several times without a ladder tall enough to access the accessory building. - Worker turnover - we had new faces every single time someone visited the property. They cannot keep staff and they are unqualified (did not know how to change breakers in a non-standard panel, not clip in). - Force loan with DIVIDEND FINANCE which has ONE stars on BBB. Horrible finance company with the worst payment portal and customer service. - We paid out of pocket for repairs after we failed our first inspection; flex energy refused to reimburse us for the materials. We waited 3 weeks between failed inspection and purchasing the material (installed by ourselves), they did nothing. Now FLEX refuses to reimburse our material costs. I feel like this company is unsafe. The Bakersfield inspector indicated the panel had to be upgraded for solar and Flex wanted to just pay for a new sticker. Cheap and unsafe. If I could give zero stars, I would. UPDATE: Finally after several months of constant phone calls to the corporate office (and them denying our material purchase for the panel upgrade), FLEX has agreed to reimburse out costs. Absolute nightmare to deal with. The only good part of the ordeal was our salesman, who is no longer with the company. Process started in January for a ground mount system. Construction started during the first week of March, and our backyard had a 2' deep trench through the middle of it for about 2 1/2 months because they started digging before a single permit was issued. After approximately 3 months, our panels were installed, and we were told everything would pass final inspection during the third week of May. The second week of June, I found out that our system had failed final inspection due to a number of errors and oversites on the install. Everything finally passed inspection in the first week of July, and we were given the all-clear by PGE to turn our system on. Almost immediately l, our monitoring system was not communicating with the panels, and one panel was producing any power at all. Flex came out and said that a panel needed to be replaced, and they would attempt to fix the communication issue, that has been about 6 weeks, and now I can get no call back and no emails returned. Stay away from Brandon Fish, Brady, and all others involved with Flex. Do not walk away, run, as fast as you can from this company. I would not recommend Flex to anyone wanting to get solar on their home! We've had the worst experience ever, and it's still not over. We began this process back in February of 2022. The sales reps. were great! Very helpful so quick to respond when we had questions, even bought us dinner once we signed the contract..... said it would be approximately 4 to 6 weeks after installation and we'd be up and running... it's now the end of October! Still not turned on! They more or less tell me, there is a process to it all! PG&E tells me they haven't even submitted an application for interconnection yet!! Those guys that were so very helpful in the beginning don't even answer my calls any more, said he doesn't work in this area any more, so when I call the office, I get through maybe 1 out of every 5 calls.
