Just went here in October for a Spark of Life retreat. What a beautiful location. Each bedroom has…read moreits own bathroom, the linens were plentiful and big and fluffy. Each bathroom was really nice as well as the bedrooms. Three of us stay in the room with three bunk beds. Super clean, the toiletries, i.e.. the shampoo, conditioner, body wash, hand soap, and hand lotion were phenomenal! They were from a local company that makes their own aromatherapy products. I wanted to buy some, but was unable to get to the store in Newport while it was opened. Probably can look on the internet, but I think it's pretty expensive. This place was really amazing and really you couldn't ask for more. Great kitchen, great dining room, great living room, great middle space, bedrooms and outdoor space. Great space, beautiful wood floors, the heat works, beautiful views, the house is right on the property of the bird sanctuary and right next to the gift shop. Beautiful location and easy walk to the beach and just a beautiful Serene peaceful location! Thank you!

Queen Anne's was exactly that for us. We had about 75 guests, and were comfortable, but cozy. Here are some words that come to mind when I think of the space: chic, vintage, intentional, beautiful, versatile and lovely. Amanda, the owner, was great from the start. Patient, kind and helpful. Her experience was evident throughout our entire planning process. She worked with us to up to the very end, easing our little anxieties and assisting us with whatever we needed. The staff at Queen Anne's was amazing! We were so pleased with the above and beyond service. A room flip was needed after the ceremony, for the reception. It was done in a timely, efficient fashion, and for that, we (and our guests), were so grateful. Food was exactly what we expected- and delicious. We opted for food stations, rather than a formal sit-down dinner. Appetizer platters, salad, sliders and pizza. Everything was fantastic. No complaints from us or our guests. We had a blast! Our wedding was everything we wanted and more. Queen Anne's and Amanda have so much to do with our unforgettable experience! 15/10 recommend. P.S. Photos by Mat & Ash Photography (the best)

Located on the outskirts of Newport in Middletown, this was a very nice hotel. I honestly wasn't…read moresure what to expect, given the overall ratings, but it turned out to be one of our favorite hotels on our 12-day New England road trip. The bed was SUPER COMFY. The room was very large, very clean, and we were very close to the elevators, as requested. On the date of our arrival, when we attempted to turn into the parking lot, we were being diverted to quite far away because the hotel was bombarded with three major events, and there was absolutely NOWHERE to park. However, when we told them of my difficulties with walking due to my bad back and knee, they made a special concession for us and actually gave us a great spot. Everyone else was being diverted elsewhere !! By the end of the evening, the hotel returned to normal, and many spots had become available again... but it sure was scary when we first arrived. I would definitely stay here again when in Newport. We found Newport itself to be very cramped and crazy, so it was nice staying a bit off the main beat.

But their going rate on the weekends is north of $600. Here are the problems: - Hotel room was poorly lit. Even with all the (dim) lights turned on, I could barely see to fix the zipper on my wife's dress or the cuff links on my shirt sleeves. - The wood bed platforms stick out 4" from the mattresses on all sides. Combine that with the dim lighting, and your shins are going to have bruises by the end of your stay. - They saved a few bucks by not enclosing the shower with glass. Water gets all over the bathroom floor, which is a slip hazard. - No real restaurant, just self-serve toast and pastries. Coffee, but no espresso or latte option. $17 to serve yourself. - The flag out front is faded. - No one to help with luggage during checkin Thinking of having a wedding or other event on the lawn? You'll want to know that their landscapers leave all of the grass clippings on the lawn. Everyone's shoes will be covered with grass clippings. At the wedding I attended, the guests carried the grass clippings on their shoes all the way up the stairs and into the ballroom and bathrooms. All the floors had grass brought up from the lawn. Hope your wife's dress isn't ruined. As long as you are prepared for cheap mediocrity, go ahead and stay here. But I think better hotels are not far away.
