Today (6/4/26) I sold a 100oz bar for $6500 when the price was $73.90/oz. It was 10:30, and they don't open til 12 during the week, but they let me in anyway. Then they quoted me $6500, and I agreed to that price without checking. Upon closer inspection, that is only 89% of the spot price -- I realized that I shouldn't have taken that price; I should have done my due diligence and looked elsewhere. I think my first impression of Tulsa Gold & Gems is that they are an honest company that "makes a little profit on a lot of sales". But now I'm not convinced that they live by that mantra. 89% is well below what most buyers will pay. Yes the staff is very friendly. But even though they are on my side of town, from now on I will not just bee-line it to this establishment; I will check prices and make sure I am well informed before thinking of selling to them.
