Hallenbeck's pays more than everyone else in this city and they are 100% upfront about how they do business. You couldn't ask for a group of people who know more than them or who have more integrity. Save yourself time, gas and heartache, just go to Hallenbeck's.

They did not explain to me how long their quotes are valid for and I had a few questions so I called them the following Monday when I planned on wiring the money. I left a voicemail for David. Never got a response and therefore I did not wire the money. Due to their long lines and lack of customer service, I was only able to get down there again a few weeks later and wanted to re-quote for a higher amount which would have actually been in their favor given higher market prices. For some reason they black list you for that. I was excited to deal with them at first but I'm glad they showed their true colors before I gave them business. I will gladly give my fiat to more serious buillon brokers. This is just a local coin shop, basically a pawn shop with coins and the quality of people to go with it.

Let me start by saying this shop has historically been very good compared to neighboring shops…read more They accepted most items, paid the universally acceptable fraction of a hypothetical: new, unused, unopened, version of the product (N.U.U.V.) in question which is a disheartening, disappointing, and sometimes SHOCKINGLY skimpy 30%... But that's normal! It's a Pawn Shop and the logistics of their profit margins is an interesting, but lengthy and complex subject you can research on your own! THEN! they resell, usually at 60% - 80% of the N.U.U.V. ... Got it? But THIS place usually bought and paid 35% - 40% of the N.U.U.V. (which is generous) and SOLD at closer to 50% - 65% of the N.U.U.V. which is why I WOULD give this place 5 stars!!! So here is the issue... they seem to be going out if business and therefore are selling "Everything Has To Go! """50% OFF""" " ....... yeah... that is NOT TRUE. I CONFIRMED IT!! There is a product in there, a gaming headset called "Rig 600 Pro" that is a model about 3-5 years old. Bear in mind that electronics depreciate quickly (lose their resell value) ESPECIALLY when new and updated models are released. Rig releases a new version of the 300, 400, 500, 600, 700, 800 basically every year causing older models to loose about 10% - 20% value compounded annually. So here's the kicker! This "Rig 600 Pro" is the EXACT SAME headset that I considered buying LAST YEAR! I know because I checked the product ID and verified this. The advertised price LAST YEAR, was $60 which is reasonable! The BRAND NEW 2025 model goes for $80-$120 depending on your store, (Amazon and Walmart are the cheaper options) But because this model is a few years old it should have dropped from $80 $64 $51 $41 etc. OR $120 $96 $77 $61 etc. I did not buy it because I was hoping it would get cheaper the longer it sat on the shelf (which is what happens when Pawn Shops fail to get rid if their items) So I go in there TODAY, and I ask, "how much for these headphones? "$80", so I respond, "So its $40 because of the sale?" To which I get either a blatant lie, or a confidently asserted incorrect statement, "No! These are expensive! About $120!" ....... NO SIR! That is the HIGHBALLED, UPCHARGED, BRAND BEW, UNOPENED, MODERN 2025 MODEL PRICE SOLD IN STORES WHICH YOU STILL SHOULDN'T PAY AS YOU CAN GET IT $40 CHEAPER FROM A DIFFERENT SOURCE! But it DOESN'T STOP THERE! EVERY ITEM I ASKED ABOUT WAS IN FACT NOT 50% OFF!!! THE GUY WAS SELLING FOR NOT ONLY ABOUT 70-120% the N.U.U.V.!! BUT THEN STATING THAT THE THOSE OVERPRICED TAGS WERE ALREADY ON SALE AND HOPING YOU BELIEVE HIM WHEN HE MAKES UP PRICES BY DOUBLING THE N.U.U.V. AND SAYING, "The original price was (just calculate advertised price-tag times two). THAT'S NOT A SALE! THAT'S SELLING A $2 APPLE, SAYING ITS 50% OFF, BY PRETENDING THE ORIGINAL PRICE WAS $4 WHEN THE ORIGINAL PRICE WAS IN FACT ACTUALLY JUST $2!! This dishonest behavior is unacceptable and honestly deserves ONE STAR. But I feel bad for them that they are going out of business so I'm averaging the 5 star review they USED to deserve with the 1 star review this dishonest pricing stunt just cost them. TLDR: Make sure you RESEARCH the GOING PRICE of each item online then take that price and multiply it by 0.6 and then start over and multiply the GOING PRICE by 0.8 and this will give you the RANGE of acceptable Pawn Shops prices that you should be willing to pay. DO NOT pay more than 80% of the price for a brand new item. WALK OUT. For example: if a TV costs $100 NEW, offer $60 - $80 for it (assuming it works and isn't too warn out or damaged). AND THATS THE RULE OF THUMB AT NORMAL PAWN SHOPS NOT GOING OUT OF BUSINESS! "THIS SHOP" is advertising "50%" OFF, so that means offer $30 - $40 for that "$100 TV" If this owner or employee or whatever is trying to milk as much money as possible before going bankrupt or selling the place DON'T let him tell you, "This is an expensive TV, it originally costs $200! you're getting a GREAT DEAL PAYING $100 for it! THAT'S 50% OFF!" When you then look it up on your phone and amazon has the SAME THING for $75 OR EVEN A NEWER MODEL BY 3-5 years for $100!" Because this is mathematically analogous, to EXACTLY WHAT JUST HAPPENED TO ME TODAY. Thank you, you guys used to be the best and I got some pretty sweet deals in the past and I honestly to God, feel pretty bad for you guys that you've gotten THIS DESPERATE, for money... oh how far you have fallen.....
