If you're renewing your driver's license, you have to make an appointment. The process to schedule an appointment online is pretty straightforward. They had plenty of availability when I made my appointment. I was very surprised to see that they were open on Juneteenth. Once you schedule an appointment, you can check in online starting 30 minutes before your appointment time. There are employees at the front to help guide you. I wasn't even able to finish completing my paperwork when my name was called. The numbering of the desks was a little strange. I had a hard time finding the area that I was supposed to go. There were over 70 desks and they weren't in a clear numeric order. The lady that renewed my license wasn't rude, but clearly didn't want to be there. She did ask me if I was okay with my photo before submitting it which I appreciated. The process is very streamlined. I was on my way in about 20 minutes which was a pleasant surprise.

Nobody super excited to be there, but I guess that's maybe not out of the ordinary when you're in the people business. I went to get a DBA for my business and was directed to the proper office. There was no line in that particular office so I was able to get in and out with my DBA. The lady helping me was all business. She wasn't rude, but she had a job to do and that's all she was interested in doing. Another lady in the office was having a very in depth conversation on her cell phone with her best pal or something. She was loud and it was obvious that it wasn't work related. I personally don't care that she was on her phone, but her volume was a little distracting at times. Whatever, it didn't keep me from what I needed to do so it's fine. I was in and out in about 10 minutes. The other interaction I've had with the clerk's office was a phone call. It turned into several phone calls when I kept being sent to the next person and the next person and so on and so forth. I was honestly ready to give up, but I needed to speak with someone about an event permit. So I kept calling number after number until I finally reached the right person. I was just glad he answered the phone. He then directed me to their website which was also a little difficult to navigate, but I managed and found what I needed.
