Several years ago while in Florida, I stumbled across a small art studio near the beach. I had not…read morepainted watercolor since high school. I had taken an art course in college that destroyed any confidence I may have had in my ability to paint. It was a rainy day at the beach and I thought, "What have I got to lose?" I walked in and signed up for what I thought would be one lesson. Once I started painting with Sharon, I could not leave. The next day, I brought my children, one in elementary school and one in middle school at the time, and they started to paint, too. It was a beautiful family affair for us and what we accomplished disproved any negative thoughts we had about our ability. Sharon can teach ANYONE to paint in a very short time.

I have been a long time customer of the Zoo Gallery, I have lived in the area for 19 years, almost as long as the gallery has been around. Over the years I have bought a multitude of great and unique hats, bags, trinkets, etc. They have interesting things, but after my last experience with the zoo gallery, I will never shop there again. This Christmas I chose the Zoo Gallery as my first stop for gift shopping, and purchased a very personal item for a family member, sunglasses. Because of sunglasses very personal nature, it was a very high probability that the family member would not like the sunglasses, and since they were $160, I wanted to ensure I could return them. I asked the clerk on duty if I could, to which she replied yes, I purchased them, and was on my way. After Christmas, my family member did not like the look of the sunglasses, after trying them on for only a few minutes. They were immediately replaced in their packaging as they came, and we returned to the store, with the receipt. Here I was told by the OWNER of the Zoo Gallery that I could NOT return these sunglasses, despite the fact that they were ready to be put on the shelf and sold again. Why? Because a sign on the counter said so. I don't know about you, but I don't make it a point to read signs when I go shopping, I converse with people, and I was told I could return them. I was shocked when I was told that despite this, the employees word would not be honored, and even more shocked when I was told that, while I could get store credit, IT EXPIRED IN A YEAR. EXCUSE ME? I have spent hundreds of dollars in this store over the years, but my purchases can be years between each other sometimes. This entire customer service experience left me feeling dirty for shopping from such a disrespectful, and rude shop. Not the kind of customer service I expect in this century! I will never shop here again.
