It's is a giant travel center with 100 gas pumps and a store that easily rivals the size of a Target. The selection is overwhelming in the best way possible. They have everything from rows of candy, jerky, and fresh-roasted nuts to warm brisket sandwiches, fresh fudge, and endless other treats. They have clothes and sporting equipment and tots and other stuff too. Pretty sure only about 1% of the total food offerings could be considered healthy, but they sure are good! Between the hot food counters, novelty snacks, and merchandise, it is nearly impossible to leave empty-handed. We ended up buying several hundred dollars of pure joy on this trip. They did kick out tiny dog out who was in a backpack but I goes those are the hygiene rules. No star deduction. If you are driving through Texas and need fuel, snacks, or just a unique road trip experience, stopping at Buc-ee's is mandatory.

One time I went there and the girl in front of me had cut offs as short as wearing underwear. The 2 male checkers probably spent a good five minutes discussing whether her shorts were too short or she should be able to wear whatever she wants with me standing right there. Another time I saw a man pour three beers into a Buckys mug before he got in his vehicle, sipping as he drove away. Always something going on. I will say though it's one of the few locations I've seen with big blue as a fountain drink . I am a huge fan of cream soda and big blue is one of my favorites. Their storebrand bottled blue cream soda is just as good if not better than Big Blue. It doesn't have caffeine.
