After it became Walgreens we continued to use it for several years but the service quality decreased steadily after then. 10 to 30 minute wait times became the norm when picking up a prescription, and the drive-through closed for several months as well. The staff is constantly changing, many of them are completely apathetic and have no interest in providing reliable or friendly service. In an ongoing corporate series of changes, it eventually became impossible to reach anyone at Walgreen on the phone, Rx items were frequently out of stock, and errors went uncorrected. Finally, after this pharmacy taking five (you read that correctly) days to fill a prescription, I changed pharmacies to Bangor Drug Co company. Going to Walgreens ironically took more time than it did to drive the extra distance to Bangor Drug Co company. Getting a prescription filled at Walgreens has become far more difficult than it should be. I'm done.

Firstly, the Bangor Daily News has a comics section. This makes me happy. I love the comics. It's the best part of the paper. Secondly, there's a lot of local news. Local sports, local health, all sorts of Maine goings on and national news too. I enjoyed it very much. The newspaper is a family owned business and is now in its fourth generation of ownership.
