I stopped in for a coffee on my way to work with my boyfriend one day. We'd found this place online and chose it primarily due to it being on my way to work, and being open on a Sunday, and not looking super run down. It looked cute online, and like they knew what they were doing, so we parked down the street and headed in.
I didn't realize it was inside a mall until we actually saw the sign for it, pointing us into a mall. No problem, I've had some really good coffee inside malls before. When we got there, it was looking a bit less cute than it did online (everything in the pastry case was wrapped in plastic, their shop looked like they were just using cheap materials, etc). Nonetheless, I wanted coffee and we were here, so we ordered two soy capps.
I brought my to-go cup (I carry that thing every day) and they had no problemo filling that baby to the top. They actually filled it so full I couldn't get the lid on, but I don't mind having a bit extra :) I drank some, twisted the top on, and we were good to go.
The first sip I took, I realized how bitter the espresso tasted. In my limited knowledge of espresso (I went through a little bit of barista training at a cafe in Australia), it seemed like the extraction of that shot was wayyy too long. Anyway, as I said, I was on my way to work, so I had to run.
The more I drank of the coffee, the better it seemed to taste. I don't know if I was just getting really caffeinated or what, it was crazy. By the end of it, I was really loving it. I had a really good caffeine high and was really happy at work all day (which isn't normal considering it was a weekend, haha).
All in all, I wouldn't go out of my way to go here again, but it was an okay coffee. read more
