When I called up I forgot to ask how much it would be, but figured it wouldn't be too bad. When we arrived the driver said it'd be $45, and I said that sounded like too much bc Uber said $30. I called the dispatch to confirm the price, and the guy on the phone said he heard someone else tell me the price, but I said he was wrong so he said he'd call and check. he then called the driver, who I was standing next to, and started speaking to him in Spanish, not knowing I speak Spanish too. he proceeded to tell the driver I am a liar, so I interrupted and asked what he was talking about? He started arguing that I was told the price ahead of time, and saying I was full of sh!t, so I told him off about calling me a liar. he said that if he was there in front of me he'd punch me in the face and I flipped on him. This guy has no business speaking to customers ever , and needs to be fired. Even before we called, the driver said the guy at dispatch is crazy, but never have I been spoken to like that by a customer service agent. there are other cab companies at that station, call one of them, don't call these people.

This has got to be the worst taxi service I have ever come across, ever…read more I use taxis pretty frequently, and around here we have a few choices. I haven't used this service in awhile and as I got into the taxi I started to remember why. First of all, I do want to give them props for calling when they reached my house, instead of honking in my driveway like some other taxis do. But it was hard to get into the taxi- the car door handle was missing and the driver wasn't aware. When he pulled out of my driveway, I had to type my destination into his phone which is annoying considering he could have done it himself while we were sitting there. The ride was quiet, I was on my phone texting my partner updates because he was going to pay for the taxi. I had remembered that this taxi service had always been wonky with their prices, and was hoping they'd charge near the normal amount. I take this ride weekly and get charged $12-$15. When we got to the house, he told me $20! I was shocked. I asked the driver to hold on while I got my partner to pay. When I told my partner the price, he was furious. He began demanding where the driver got the number from and was refusing to pay without explanation. The driver explained the price increase by saying we were basically paying for the ride from where he started, to my house, to my destination! The argument went on, we were charged unfairly. The driver had threatened to call the cops so my partner finally caved and left him $20. I can assure neither one of us will be using Southeast Taxi again. I want a consistent price, not made up ones. Also, taxis with door handles are nice.

Two and three word email responses from the owner led to either a miscommunication or deceit. Quite simply, I requested a roundtrip quote (home to airport with return). When being dropped at the airport, I was horrifically surprised when they told me the quoted price was each way. Sadly, the start of my vacation was spent standing in the road at the Newark airport drop-off, arguing for ten minutes on the phone with the business owner. He attempted to compromise, but it wasn't enough. A week before my trip, I emailed the owner for a clarification of their charge, asking, "do you collect half each way?" His response was, "yes, we do". I can't ever use or recommend this service again. The owner should learn to write clear emails and utilize formal price quotes like other car services. I ended up riding home at the end of my trip in a much nicer Cadillac Escalade with a different business!
