This is stright from the EEOC website: Federal law also prohibits employers from conducting the Form I-9 and E-Verify processes before the employee has accepted an offer of employment. Applicants may be informed of these requirements in the pre-employment setting by adding the following statement on the employment application. The first thing they will demand when you walk through their door is identification so they can complete the I-9 form, this is against federal law. They do not need your identification to tell you the details of a job. Do not let them tell you otherwise. Most people do not know this and willingly give up their information. Do not do it! Given this information, it begs the question what other rules or laws are they breaking? The place is very shady, any business who breaks federal law tells you there are other things going behind the scenes most of which are not well intended on your behalf.
