Expert Pest charged a great deal of money to provide substandard work. To add insult to injury, they sent additional field technicians to my house who did not address the problems I was having with mice. One of the "experts" was over the top rude and unprofessional. Money is the name of their game. The guy who came out to spray my house told me they use the same thing sold at most stores. Ortho's Home Defense. This is what I have to pay $80 quarterly for? No more. Sorry I made the mistake of getting into a contract with them before I researched them. I had a minor problem with ants in 2 small areas of my home, along the same wall. What they did for me did not stop the ants from coming in. I had to go outside and saturate both those areas with the Ortho's Home Defense to stop the ants from getting in. I sprayed along the baseboard on the inside twice a week and that worked. You cannot break your contract if you are not satisfied with their work. They offer to send someone back out to remedy the problem, but three times and it didn't help. Don't waste your time or money on this company. read more

Company has poor people skills. THEY ARE NOT COVID FRIENDLY. Do not use this company. Could not guarantee extermination. COULD NOT PROVIDE MSDS PAPERS to explain toxicity levels of the chemicals they were going to use. Did not explain prior to coming out. Tried to charge me for service call with never doing any treatment. Still is trying to invoice me. In addition they are trying to charge interest on top of charges they feel they are owed. Claims every time they send a new bill , they will charge $3.00 for the new invoice. This place is a scam craving on illegal financial practices. Representatives are less than friendly as well as rude. Several horrible complaints on this company. I have to file a desist order to get them to quit harassment. They are not a legitimate pest management company and are using scare tactics for false collections on services never rendered. STAY AWAY. The vehicle they sent did not have company name. I know this is the Expert Pest Management service I've used for 6 years at our house in Austintown. I know because I dialed the phone number shown here on yelp.com with this business listing. I spoke with the same person who's been answering the phones as long as I can recall. The only reason I'm using yelp,btw, is because A. I needed to call therefore needed the phone number & didn't have it handy. B. I wanted to read the terrible reviews that came up with my Google search for expert pest control's number. I'll delete this app after I write my review. Yelp drains too much battery power from my sucky galaxy 5 "smart phone". I started with expert about 6 years ago and it cld be longer, I just don't recall. The first experience I had was an ant issue in my kitchen I just couldn't get rid of with home remedies. Back then the deal was that you cld have a one time spray for idk, $180? Or sign on for a one year service of quarterly visits. 2 inside and 2 outside the house. That service would be less than $120 each visit but I cld call them any time in between the quarterly and they'd come at n/c. It's expensive but the spray they used on the inside is non toxic for my dogs and the outside is safe after 30 minutes. After the first 2 years, at contract renewal time, I told my service person I couldn't be sure I'd be in town each quarter and wouldn't need them to come as much. They agreed to let me continue on a per visit basis paying the same thing I'd paid each quarter. Now, I happen to have first hand knowledge of the pest control biz thru a very good friend who's son worked for a pest control outfit in another state. The spray is watered down like mad blah blah. I'm ok with that because it doesn't make my dogs sick, I don't see the ants or any type of pest and if I do I can call those guys and they'll take care of it. All that said, the first 2 years of service, the person who sprayed this area of town was an odd bird who I didn't have any problem with at first but over time, the person became more and more, what I'll call "fresh & unprofessional". I finally called and really didn't want to get anyone in trouble or fired because really they hadn't "done" anything other than; blatantly stare at & talk to my chest rather than my face & gave off a very creepy vibe. I just couldn't take it anymore. After that, there's been two guys who've come. My dogs love them, they're professional but friendly & I trust them. Aces. For me, they've been pretty great. As for the other reviews, I don't recognize those prices and haven't had mice or critter issues so.....I live in a single family home. read more

I hired this company to come and eliminate a problem I had with bats getting into my home. They told me that they offered a "bat program" that would cost $950 plus tax to come and seal up all exterior secondary entrances, install a one-way exit door in the primary entrance, and to seal up all interior entrances in the home. They demanded payment in full up front, and I had to make several phone calls to even get someone to give me a statement in writing about what work was being done. I was a little suspicious when they asked for payment in full up front, but I was desperate to eliminate the bats from my living space. The "program" was to come with a 3-year guarantee on their work. They sent a technician on 3 occasions, and he spent less than half an hour doing a very perfunctory and non-thorough walk around the house and patching a couple of gaps in the siding. I asked why the service was so expensive, if they did not spend the time being thorough. I was told that the thing I was paying for was the 3-year guarantee on the work. Less than 2 months after their so called "completion" of the job, I found bats in my home again. When I called to inform them that they had apparently missed something, they wanted to charge a $125 service fee, even when their contract clearly states that the fee would only be charged due to "reinfestation from weather or remodeling work". There was no REinfestation. You can't RE-infest something that was never not infested. And when they sent a technician back out, he glanced around the house and said there were no more entry points. They failed to eliminate the bat problem. I have had no fewer instances of bats in my home after paying them to fix it than I had before they came out. And when I called them again to tell them I actually have observed the exact point of the house where they are coming and going, the manager I spoke with told me that she could send someone to take care of it, but that if they determined that they did not miss an area and that the bat entry point was due to weather "its probably weather, since it has been several months since we were out." That they would charge me another $125. I declined. So they sell this 3-year guarantee, and then, if they miss anything, they blame it on the weather only a few months into the so-called guarantee. It's a scam. It's a rip off. And I learned a very expensive lesson. And now I am having to hire someone else to do the job that I already paid this company to do that they failed to do. You can bet that the new person I hired I vetted with the local authorities to make sure he is licensed and has a good track record. read more

Do not waste your money. This company is so unprofessional. From the tech to the office people. I have been with them for a few years,(why I don't know) each year the service got worse and worse. This year I have actually been charged for a service that was not done correctly. Had a slight confrontation with the tech. I actually took monthly pictures of a hive under my upper deck. Started out the size of a tennis ball finished larger than a basketball. I tried many many many times to resolve this problem with their office people, but no help. Un answered e mails on hold on the phone for 25 minutes plus. All I wanted was them to not charge me for their service visit and cancel me out of their program. Now it is in collections. I had Eric come over and see why I am getting bees by my lights in the morning. He arrived and looked around thinking that there might be a nest. There is none and he said that there was nothing he could do about it. He offered to spray for the bees but could not guarantee any results. I have been killing about 20 at a time,today after his spraying I now have double. I am handicapped and can't risk getting stung or having my dog or grandchildren getting stung either. We come in late at night and need to turn on the outside lights. I spoke to Gina a few minutes ago and she was rude and offered no suggestions. I have asked to speak with a service manager but I am sure I will not have any results. I will never use or recommend this company to any other person. read more

Don't walk away from this company, run! Called for possible bats, they sent a kid out who was there less than 30 minutes who said he smelled guanam (bat poop) in the attic. He said he caulked holes and made a make-shift trap out of screen and hung it off the facia boards. he said the bat would go out and not be able to get back in. It occurred to us that bats hibernate in the winter, that bat won't be leaving. They charged my elderly mother $750 upfront. I called for a second opinion the next day. This man was the "expert" ! He spent 3.5 hours there going over every inch of the house. He said there was NO guanam smell and further, the holes were NOT caulked and the "trap" was worthless because even if it were a bat, it couldn't make to the end of the facia board. In addition, he found sunflower seeds in the attic and said bats don't eat sunflower seeds. This is either mice or flying squirrels. He was right. The next day, I called Expert Pest out of courtesy and let them know I put a stop payment on the check but would be happy to pay for the 30 minutes of the kids time. Then they put through an ACH for a little different amount knowing the bank wouldn't catch it. I had to close my mothers account, open a new account and this was very very upsetting for her. Horrible service, they demanded I pay before they would do anything. I paid then the guy went to my hose and filled his container up with mostly water. He looked around the house and said he didn't see anything so he couldn't do anything. He tried to get my to sign up for a subscription to their service for them to come out regularly. When pressed for more information, I found out it's a contract that's pretty hard to get out of. Later I went found the problem and took care of it myself. I paid $125 for a guy to fill up a bucket at my house. Lol, called and complained. Got to talk to some jerk named Al who is allegedly the owner. As unprofessional as he is, there's no way that's right. Couple of months later, at my storage unit in Ohio, I see the service guy. He was finishing up for the day and it turns out that a storage unit the hq rents is the "local" chain. Lol, companies a complete joke and fradulent in my opinion. read more

I don't even want to give this company one star, 1/2 star would not even suffice. I recently purchased a new home, and called "Expert" to have rodent extermination done. The minute the technician walks in the door, they want your credit card information. After this is processed and approved, they proceed. When I initially called, I was told that it would be $215 to have bait traps applied and all holes would be filled where rodents enter from outside. When the technician arrived, and only after he processed my credit card, he told me that the total I paid only included filling holes 4' and below, called a "partial exclusion". If I wanted all holes filled, I would have to upgrade to the "full exclusion" plan for an additional $275. I refused and they put the bait traps around the house. The technician told me the office would call in 2 weeks to come back and fill the holes. After waiting 3 weeks with no call, I called the company back to schedule the service. When I got home from work today, I found two very small holes around the air conditioner and the gas pump were filled with blowout Styrofoam that you buy at Home Depot. I basically paid $215 to have bait traps placed around the house and two small holes filled on the outside. Please save your money, time and aggravation and do not use expert pest management. There is nothing professional or any expertise involved whatsoever with this company in my opinion. They are actually consistent in delivering their services to the customers in the most amazing manner unlike others. They are reliable, trustworthy and honest. Please don't use this company. Charged $125 just to come and review the problem. They never took care of the problem...had all kind of excuses then wanted you to sign up for a on going program. The moles/voles came back worse than before the treatments. When I called to question this I was told since it was over seven days it wasn't covered. I contacted a local company who charged nothing for an evaluation and free advice how to handle the problem and just call if we had more of a problem. What a difference. HORRIBLE experience. Yes, they got rid of the pests because they weren't that bad. It was more of we wanted to get rid of them before they got out of hand, but, the second time they came for the follow up that is included in original payment , they sprayed our cat (fortunately it's supposed to be pet friendly).... Then they called and wanted to set up another service a couple weeks later. We said we didn't need anymore, there aren't any issues. Then couple weeks later, they're knocking on our door. We said "we already told them we didn't need any more services" and he said ok and left. A month later we got an $80+ bill saying it was for cancelling /missing an appt. I disputed it and they said I couldn't talk to manager but they'd talk to them and if there's any more issues, they'd call me back. Never got a call. 8 months later I get a letter from collections saying they gave it to collections. I called collections to dispute it and they said I had to prove that I said I didn't want any services after the initial contract. So I called expert pest management and once again was told I can't talk to a manager but they'd email the manager. HORRIBLE! how can you send someone out after they say they don't want the service then charge them because they won't take the service?? read more
