When I was a junior in high school, everyone started doing their college preps and review centers became the it-topic to discuss. Expert Guides was one of the top choices because not only was it comprehensive with the review program, it also had a high success-rate. It was also much more affordable than the other review center of choice, so I found a lot of my schoolmates and friends from other schools going here. Looking back though, I still feel like college exam review centers aren't all that necessary. It's not like you're preparing for board exams or the bar! You don't learn anything new at all - it's literally just a review of everything you already know. Buuut that might be its merit. The tips and tricks on how to do fast math are helpful, the patterns for abstract exams, although I feel like all those you can still learn on your own.
I think review centers in general are really just for the peace of mind that you're doing some active thing to study and prepare for the exams. At least you get regular drills and practice! Don't lose heart though when the sample ACET and UPCAT they give over there have you failing miserably. Those sample tests aren't realistic at all, hahaha! They're designed to scare you, lol. My scores sucked on those, but in the end I still did get into both Ateneo and UPd! ;) They make for great personal reviewers as well, along with the subject modules, review books, and sample exams they give throughout the sessions. Perfect for self-study! read more
