Went to Exotic Eye in Homer, AK, on a whim, looking to possibly get a small tattoo. Took me years to work up the courage to get one, and I am so glad I walked in last month! The atmosphere is so chill and relaxing, and the view of Kachemak Bay out their window is stunning. The Tatoo process was pretty painless, even for this sissy! Rachel, the owner is so welcoming and so cool, and her staff is friendly, helpful and accommodating, and I thoroughly enjoyed the experience!!! I had the privilege of working with Laura, a visiting artist, and she was phenomenal! Her work is gorgeous and so creative, and she was an absolute pleasure to work with. I love the artwork she has left me with, and I wound up ending the summer with three tattoos, not one, and I doubt I'm done! I am so glad I walked in that day and highly recommend Exotic Eye. If you have a vision, or just an inkling of what you might want, they will turn it into a piece of art to enjoy! The third is too new and still healing so didn't add a photo. read more

I walked in Exotic Eye wanting to get a tattoo by Margot and was able to book an appointment with her for the very next day! I showed her what I wanted and the next day she showed me a beautiful design she drew herself, exactly what I wanted. The whole experience was so beautiful, the energy and the atmosphere in Exotic Eye is so peaceful and comfortable. I was a little nervous, this being my first tattoo, but Margot was awesome through the whole process talking to me about anything and everything, giving me breaks, and making sure I was comfortable while she worked. I loved the turnout of my tattoo, I even asked after she started if we could do some color shading in the petals of the flower, and I showed her a picture of a Tiger Lily the way I would want the color to look, and she NAILED it. Maya and Rachel were also in there at the same time and were so fun to talk to as well. I will DEFinitly be back! read more

Loved getting a tattoo here! Here's why! I was able to do a walk in with Exotic eye tattoo. I gave the artist an idea of what I wanting to do and we drew it up together. The artist worked with me and an existing mountain tattoo that I wanted to add too/fix. After we drew it up we printed the template and figured out a good size, the artist made sure I was happy with the template and then started my tattoo. My mountain tatttoo was on my left rib cage which is a spot known to be sensitive, the artist checked in with me and how I was doing the whole tattoo. After I was done I was given proper care instructions and she placed second skin on my tatttoo. I am so incredibly happy with this tattoo it turned out amazing, I would definitely recommend this tatttoo place! read more

I've been searching for an artist to cover a tattoo on my back for about two years now, when a friend recommended Rachel from Exotic Eye after she had a great experience there. Turns out two years of waiting paid off. Rachel was able to really take in my ideas (and collage) of what I was envisioning. She killed it with the attention to detail, line work, pointillism and capturing the vibe I was going for. She took my idea and made it better. She asked if I wanted to make any changes, just one little change and we were on our way. I now have a piece of art in lieu of a bad tattoo on my back. The studio is clean, comfy and puts you at ease. Take advantage of what we have while it's here. read more

Rachel is so amazing! Her creative eye and attention to detail blows me away everytime. She is working on a sleeve for both me and my husband, so we spent all summer frequenting her shop for hours at a time. She is definitely the kind of tattoo artist you want when you have to hang out in such close quarters with someone, especially when it's as long as we did. She is so personable and fun, not to mention our tattoos are turning out amazing! Can't wait for her to start my next piece! You will love her, whether going in for a huge sleeve or back piece, or just something small and fun. She listens to what you want and comes up with a design that totally nails it! read more

Rachel was simply amazing. She worked with my wife and I to help design the perfect matching tattoos. Her shop is located in a beautiful location in Homer and she makes you feel very comfortable while performing her work. She offers you a nice cup of hot tea prior to getting your tattoo to help relax your muscles. We engaged in great conversation throughout the session. I will never use another artist other than Rachel for future tattoos. She is amazing.Your review helps others learn about great local businesses. This place rocks for getting ink up in Alaska. I was on a bike tour of the Kenai peninsula and always love to get a tattoo after one of my bike tours. I didn't have much expectations of getting the tattoo just thought it was Alaska and didn't really think they would have the greatest artists up there. But I was wrong. This was a great little shop on the spit, they got me in on my time frame and nailed the tattoo. It was one of my best cleanest and fast healing tattoos I ever got and they did it right. Would go back anytime but I'm thinking Maui next time for sure. Great place to get a memory that will last forever and you won't regret read more

Love this place. I got my best tattoo from Rachel. Started my tattoo at the beginning of the summer. My first sitting was 8 hours and we talked visited and laughed the whole time my next 2 visits weren't as long but just as great and I watched my tattoo come to life she is a wonderful artist. Very nice place and wonderful people. Rachel is awesome from the first time I walked in the door. She has this presance about her that you just can't help but like her. She made me feel very comfortable and took my idea and turned it into a masterpiece. If anyone reading this is wanting to get a tattoo she is the one to go to. read more

This place has THEE MOST professional & talented artist (Rachel) she does gorgeous artwork, cover ups, free hand .. Etc. She listens and doesn't push her own idea, I gave her my idea/design and she glorified it beyond my expectations! All before any permanent work was done on my body. I will never go to anyone except Rachel again, even if it means going to Maui to finish up a meaningful tattoo. Meeting Serena was such a pleasure too, I can't wait to see her future work, she already does henna and face & body painting. read more

This is one of the cutest and most talented tattoo parlors that I have ever had the pleasure to go to. I was tattooed twice by Sarah Frary over the course of the summer, and the work was incredible, The people there truly have a passion for their work, and a passion for the world around them They want to work with you to make sure you have the best experience, and the best art possible. I would recommend this place very highly as one of the most friendly and skilled shops I have been to in the US. read more

I would highly recommend Rachel for any style of tattoo, that means a lot coming from someone who has traveled a lot but never has settled with anyone else, over about 15 years of looking....Her high level of skill is astonishing! She has a beautiful studio with ocean view on the Homer spit which sets an enjoyable atmosphere. Her team is their with helping hands, to allow you to feel right at home. Rachel was an absolute GEM! My sister and I were visiting and reached out to Rachel with our vision, and she delivered! When we walked into her shop, I knew we were in the right place. She and her team were so welcoming and this was the most fun I've ever had while getting some work done. We laughed the entire time and she was so patient with my mom, who needed to film and document the entire process. (Thank you again! ). I will absolutely be back! read more

I've gone to Rachel twice now for work and each time she goes above and beyond my expectations. When you have an appointment, she is 100% focused and you with zero rush or urgency to get done and move to the next appointment. She takes time to listen to what you want and research and prep ideas to match! Both of her pieces healed without issue and the quality is far from comparable. Homer is fortunate to have her and I can't wait to go back again! read more

This past Wednesday my husband and I got two tattoos from the amazing Maya as walk ins. They were kind, funny and very welcoming. She took our guide on how we wanted the tattoos to look and they turned out wonderful! It was my husband's first time and Maya definitely made him comfortable and checked on him constantly. We would definitely recommend Maya and the whole team at Exotic Eye Tattoo. Thank you so much for these memorable tattoos! read more

My tattoo is the fish picture on this page. I think it pretty much speaks for it's self. Not only is Rachel an incredibly talented artist, but she and Joey (and Conquistadora) made the whole experience as enjoyable as possible. It was a clean, comfortable shop and their company was highly entertaining. I can't wait to go back for more! It's a real treat to have some one like Rachel in our little town. read more

Rachel took the design I gave her, added her own artistic vision and the result was a tribal bear much cooler than I had originally envisioned. She, Joey and Conquistadora are all very friendly, the shop is clean and comfortable, and I have to say that this was my best tattoo experience and a great way to commemorate an amazing vacation. My mom and I are both very happy with our tattoos! read more

both myself and my wife have received tattoos from Rachael. She does absolutely amazing work. I have a very unique tattoo that we do a lot of research to get . She spent a ton of time helping me figure it out. The tattoo is perfect. My wife also received a tattoo that came out much nicer than we anticipated due to 's input and design work. I can't recommend this place enough. read more

Rachel does a great job and is very nice and easy to work with. I got a large piece on my arm done in 5 hours and it turned out great even though I had a tight window to get it done. I was happy with the design soon as I walked in for my appointment and the tattoo itself turned out amazing. Very happy with my experience here and out does most shops anywhere in the lower 48. read more
