Mike was a great host and kept good demeanor everytime we needed a hint. The theme of our room represented a serial killer hostage situation and we were locked in cages! The props and decor were spooky AF and did the hints were all in blood which had a great touch to it. Mikey really stressed the fact that communication is key and to put your pride aside because you literally NEED to work with your peers that you separated from. Without saying to much I will compliment that this was challenging and requires a good amount of focus in order to become apart of 20% of people that get out in an hour. My first experience, there were 7.5 of us (with a little girl) for the Conspiracy game. I was a bit nonchalant until I realized half the time had elapsed. There was a lot of thought put into the design of the game, and I have to admit a lot of time was wasted because of our own team throwing us off course completely. Trust the puzzles, trust the game! It was a lot of fun, especially with the twist in the end that threw us all in for a loop! The best moments were when we really just stopped and observed. Fantastic experience! We've done many escape rooms and this one ranks right up there with the best of them. Our team escaped the Torture chamber which was one of the most creative and immersive escape rooms we've ever been to. The puzzles were challenging yet not impossible. On your way here, if you feel like you're passing through a lot of industrial type buildings, and slowly making your way to the middle of nowhere, then you're headed in the right direction. I'm not sure what the difficulty level was for the room that my group did (I didn't book the room), but it was easy. It wasn't extremely easy to the point where it wasn't enjoyable (I had a lot of fun actually), but just enough to constantly keep you on your toes without feeling completely stumped. I've done one other escape room at a completely different location where there were things that no one could have possibly figured out what to do without the host having to tell you the answer. At this escape room, there was nothing like that. Also, they have unlimited hints if needed! Shoutout to Michael and Gigi for making the experience that much more fun! What an experience! My friends and I (total of 7 members) went to Exit Strategy Games on 3/26 at 8PM to tackle the Torture Chamber room and then later, Pet Snatch. We were greeted inside by Michael who was, hands down, an absolutely phenomenal host. To go more in detail, the experience was a conglomeration of challenges, excitement, creativity, and wonderful service. Michael was very friendly and because it was the first escape room for the most of us, Michael graciously went over some basic rules and guidelines. He had a constant smile and definitely made us feel welcomed and engaged with not only the escape room, but with the overall experience, asking us for recommendations and critiques. Even with his friendly demeanor, Michael was capable of playing along with the ambiance of the Torture room, popping in creepily whenever we asked for hints. Overall, Michael was a key component of the experience and a truly wonderful host. Now for the experience prior to the room, everything was well organized and simple. We were each given a tablet to sign a waver and then directed to watch a short instructional video of the Torture Room. After the video finished, we gathered our personal belongings (phone, keys, wallets, bags, etc...) and placed them into the free lockers provided by the company. We were then placed into the room where Michael proceeded to explain all the necessary rules and warnings, such as no excessive force. We were given unlimited hints and a total of one hour to solve the room. In terms of the Torture Chamber, the experience was great for a first timer! Granted that the props were noticeably fake, it didn't take too much away from the horror experience. The props served their purpose and added to the game. The puzzles were challenging and we graciously and shamelessly utilized our hints when needed. And for the sake of spoilers, it was really fun experience for a first timer to test the waters and definitely got all of us riled up and ready to tackle Pet Snatch. Pet Snatch was definitely more light hearted than Torture Chamber, as one could tell by the name. Same concept as TC, an hour and unlimited hints. PS, however, was a lot easier than Torture Chamber, and a wonderful way to end the night on a more playful note. Puzzles were challenging but doable for a first timer. Definitely worth the time and money for both rooms! After my friends and I finished the room, we had a conversation with Michael about ways that could improve their rooms or any recommendations on new ideas. Michael was an open-minded listener and greeted our opinions and ideas with consideration and respect. He then proceeded to take our group picture, handing us signs and writing down our team name for us on a mini whiteboard. Overall, I would definitely return and will make plans in the near future to do so! It is worth the try and will completely get you engaged and challenged, so don't hesitate to give this place a try, especially if you're a first timer! read more

If you are thinking about doing an escape room definitely do this one. My family went as an event for my 13 year old brothers birthday and the entire family had a blast. The room was amazing, our guide gave us a great backstory and the clues fit perfectly with the room. I tried to grade this escape room more lenient or nicer because it is not bad, but I have been to a better one and so this came off as a disappointment (our team name at the end was dissapointed... it was misspelled, but kinda funny at the same time) This was the 3rd escape room that I have tried within the Sacramento region and I'm sorry to say the one on I street still has the best technological gears and strategies. The Critiques: 1. The rooms did not have the monitor and microphone that the previous escape room on I street had. The benefit to having the monitor and microphone is so that the players themselves would never have to physically interact with the employees so it'll feel more realistic as an escape room. Also, the employee for the escape room on I street would watch us with hawk eyes and noticed small things like how we got the clue but was pulling the lock wrong and would notify us on the monitor. 2. They only have one room to chose from at a time. I wish there would have been other rooms/games for smaller groups. Instead, we had one large group with other people that we didn't know at all. We had 6 and the other group had 4... great way to meet new people, but it got awkward at times. 3. We made it through 80 percent of the way and prob failed to get some clues because we swapped the numbers or letters wrong, but we are not allowed a walk through to find out how to escape. Comparing this to the other escape room again, they actually showed us how to solve it. I mean I'm not coming back to complete a room that I solved for more than half way. Also if they're afraid of leakage of the clues, then let me tell them something, if people wants to cheat then they will find a way to cheat and people who wants to play clean, will. So it doesn't really matter.. 4. We did the torture chamber room, but I feel like the lightings can be dimmer, so it can be scarier (comparing it to the one on I street again). Also one of their devices were faulty. Also we didn't pass, but that is not why I'm full of complaints. Because I didn't pass the one on I street either and I came out really impressed with their structure and service. The praises: 5. I like how this one had numerous of obstacles to go through kinda like 1/2 of the big one in Los Angeles (don't want to spoil). 6. There's a bathroom in the facility unlike the one in Maryland 7. The props were better than the one on grantline 8. Pushes the limits on teamwork, it made me figure out who I possibly wouldn't want to be stuck in a room with next time (just kidding). Also, I found faults in myself as well. 9. Staff, Michael, he was super happy to be there and super happy to have helped us. There weren't any faults with him, and if being to happy is one then that would be it. 10. Groupon is the way to go 13-14 dollars per person. Most escape rooms are on groupon, so I'm glad they joined in with the mix. read more
