He has a Google profile "Tri-MED Behavioral & Sleep Medicine: Oluyemi Aina, MD" with various poor reviews. I'd made my decision to see him after reading positive feedback on his other profiles. I'm posting my review on various platforms so hopefully people won't make the same mistake I did. I just got off a call with him after waiting a month to be seen as a new patient. My experience has been extremely disappointing and I'm appalled at how I was treated. For anyone suffering from a complex or frustrating diagnosis, Dr. Aina is a WASTE of time and money and will make you regret opening up to him about your pain. The doctor acted dismissive and rude from the get-go, as if he didn't want to be there. He started the appointment late, then cut me off multiple times after asking me to describe my issues and asked me outright multiple times why I was seeing him in the first place. I told him I was seeking to transfer care after not seeing progress for years on my condition, having seen several ineffectual psychiatrists and tried upwards of ten medications to no benefit. He essentially accused me of doctor shopping and made me justify why I had switched from each psychiatrist even though he went through my prescription history and could clearly see evidence of me being prescribed inappropriate medications. Note that I did NOT at any point ask for addictive or controlled medications during the appointment. He told me I had no idea what I was talking about regarding my diagnosis and "looking stuff up on the internet is no way similar to having a medical degree", as if I was making things up about my lived experience. Before we were even halfway through the appointment, you could see he'd already washed his hands of me. I was nothing but civil and yet from the beginning it felt like I was on the stand defending myself before a judge. I don't know if this doctor treats every new patient with this attitude-- I don't know if it was because I'm young and a woman or if he just doesn't respect his clientele. It's very unlikely he was unaware how he was coming across. I've seen rude medical providers before but this really takes the cake in terms of outright disregard. The one star on this review goes towards the medical assistant who did my intake, she at least was friendly and treated me like a person.

Again I urge anyone to think twice before going here....unless you don't care that there is no thorough oral exam, just the sales pitch and then being in a group of strangers going through an "orientation". His excuse was the winter storm first - keep in mind that he told me on Tuesday what he was going to do and the ice storm didn't arrive until Friday night. The next excuse was that all personnel who could apparently do anything were gone to a seminar. This place is filled with excuses and horrible patient care. I advise you to run far and fast away from this business. ************************************ I am extremely disappointed in the level of care and follow-through I've received from Star Sleep and Wellness Frisco. My dental appliance broke four weeks ago, after I had only been using it for one month. I waited two days just to receive a call back, at which point I was told to send photos of the appliance. Based solely on those photos--without any in-person examination--Grace determined that the issue was broken hinges and ordered replacements. Once the hinges arrived, it was discovered that the actual problem was a compromised screw, meaning the entire appliance had to be sent back to the lab. This resulted in another two-week delay. After hearing nothing, I emailed Sam for an update. He told me he would follow up and get back to me. Another week passed with no communication. When I reached out again, I received a response from Grayson, the Wellness Director at the Frisco location, informing me that Sam no longer worked there and--more concerning--that no steps had been taken at all to move my case forward. I emailed Grayson two additional times with questions and requests for updates and received no response. Today, I called and spoke with Grace again--the same person who initially misdiagnosed the problem. She informed me that she does not even know where my appliance is, let alone when I might get it back. To make matters worse, just this week I was diagnosed with high blood pressure due to untreated sleep apnea and have now had to start medication. This delay in care has had real, measurable consequences for my health. At this point, I am requesting immediate accountability and resolution--specifically, clear communication on the current location and status of my appliance, a firm timeline for repair or replacement, and appropriate consideration for a refund or replacement at no additional cost due to the extended delays and lack of care coordination. I went to see Dr. Thai because my friends and my sleep app were "concerned" about my sleep…read moredisturbance. Turns out I have Obstructive Sleep Apnea (OSA). Dr. Thai and her staff, Camilla and Ashley, were able to diagnose my OSA by using a Home Sleeping Test (HST). The HST was very easy to use and a world of difference from previous in-clinic sleep studies I've done. The results of the HST were conclusive and my OSA is considered "severe". Dr. Thai and her nurse, Camilla, did a fantastic job explaining the diagnosis and the potential risks associated. They then competently and clearly laid out a number of solutions, the pros and cons of each, and the costs associated with each. In a very vulnerable time, I felt comfortable and safe, knowing Dr. Thai and her staff really had my best interests in mind. I can't recommend Dr. Thai and her office, DFW Sleep Solutions highly enough. I'm just beginning this journey, but feel hopeful about what the future of my sleep holds.

So take that as you wish. She couldn't just ask for an appt - she had to fill out a whole form online with her info. Within a half-hour he phoned her personally and gave her a sales pitch. So maybe he really cares a lot. But it seemed odd. Wife asked me to come along because she is worried that she is gullible & might fall for a sham. She said that Dr Perkins sounded too good to be true. But hey who knows? We are desperate to get rid of her headaches & maybe Dr Perkins is a miracle man. Her appt was a 75 minute sales pitch. I'll try to sum it up. DP = Dr Perkins note this is all happening before he gave her any exam, so his diagnoses are based on what? Intuition? DP "do you have sleep apnea? Wife "no." DP "yes. Yes you do. I will cure it." DP "Are you constipated?" Wife "No, but in last week I had a bit of diarrhea since I had my 5 year colonoscopy." DP "This will fix your chronic diarrhea." DP " do you have heart problems?" Wife "No" DP "yes, you do, and I can fix it" Wife " I have restless legs." DP "My mouthpiece will cure that." DP "Do you have acid reflux" Wife " No." DP "I'm sure you do and I'll make it go away." Wife "I have mild lower back pain after doing lots of work. I mostly fix it with stretches." DP "my mouthpiece cures lower back pain." DP "want to lose weight?" (Who doesn't, right?) Wife " yes, about 10 lbs." DP "all my patients lose about 10 lbs." DP " I want you take this at/home sleep test. It normally costs $3000 but I can get them to do it for you for only $245." Me "wow! What a discount! Why for so much cheaper?!" DP (hems & haws) "er... quantity discounts." He charged us $400 for our 75 minutes which included a 10 minute mouth exam. ("You have macroglossia! I can fix that!") We refused the $245 sleep study that was "worth $3000". He expected us to immediately sign on for the $6200 service he offered for the Mouthpiece That Fixes Everything. Also neither Medicare nor our medigap would cover it. Maybe we're missing out on an amazing cure opportunity and our cynicism is blinding us. But to me & my wife, Dr Perkins seemed to massively overpromise, and to diagnose conditions that we did not believe Wife had, based on recent exams from other doctors. Draw your own conclusions.

Fast forward... about a year later, I talked to Texoma Community Center asking for help for my greiving, I was denied a talk therapist other than the same person, who told me that 5 months and to be better over husband's death and I was told to talk to case manager. I started to talk about my childhood and lived at relatives from 4th grade to 12th grade and felt abandoned, used and was ignored and lived in isolation. I was told well were you feed food, did you get clothes, and shelter. I flipped with anger. What kind of fuckup response to my sentence when I am talking about my anger. That day was the last day I talked to the person who was assigned to talk to me. The upper management made decision that I do not need mental health help. Upper Management are incompetant in deciding that I do not need a therapist to talk to. I think some of the upper management are so fucked up, making decision that a person does not need therapist.
