The cost of providing groceries was also very exploitative. Many of the workers come from tropical locations and expect specialty food items. In Vermont, it's unrealistic to expect tropical fruits to be affordable. Some of the caretakers were also buying specialty mushroom coffees and other health food items on my Dad's credit card. He had calculated over $2500 in groceries over 5 weeks time. I was constantly throwing out rotting food as they overbought and never consumed a lot of it in a timely manner. Management just responded to our concerns with," Well it's not like they were buying ice cream".

We hired this company to care for my 87 year old mother. We were very clear what her needs were. We…read morewere told most of the caregivers were retired nurses or CNA's. Not true. First girl refused to help my mom out of her chair because she didn't want to hurt her own back. She would try to lift my mom by pulling on the front of the gait belt like she was a sack of potatoes. Second girl tried to have us do all her food shopping and pay for it. When she finally ordered her own food like she was supposed to, she cooked the worst smelling food I have ever smelled. Third girl was the worst. Completely disrespected my mother. Told my mom that it was her house too and she could do what she wanted. Very rough bathing, very mean to my mom. She took a picture of my mother falling out of bed instead of helping her. This was all in a three week span. These girls have no business dealing with the elderly. David, the field supervisor is completely inadequate. Kevin Williams is the salesman and your initial contact person. Lie, lie, lie. Please, please, please do not hire this company.

Patient was erroneously discharged from nursing and home health aide services due to an error in paperwork. Patient is physically limited and asa a result isolated from community. Apart from medical care, patient was also provided with supportive kindness from staff, patient came to see these people as friends. However, the office child felt the punitive approach was best, and rather than admit they had made a mistake, the screwed over patient instead. This is how their priorities work. If you love your family, you should not trust their care to this agency.

I have had to file a formal complaint with the BBB and I learned about further lies after filing the complaint. If you were asked by a patient with recent back surgery to call first before coming over so the dogs could be closed in a room, would you expect a call? Or would you expect someone banging on the door getting dogs worked up while patient can barely move to put them away? If you were told then that a dog friendly nurse would come, would you expect to hear from the company to make arrangements? Shamrock did none of these things nor did they notify the surgeon that they weren't caring for his patient as arranged. It was after the surgeon called them that he was told the lie that the dogs tried to attack the nurse. Neither dog has ever bitten anyone but if the nurse is scared of dogs, she could have followed instructions to call first. Shut down this company.

The second aide did not take my mother for her weekly beauty parlor appts., dressed her in dirty clothing, fed her unhealthy food, and ran up her phone bill with international phone calls. The brochure claims that they have aides with valid drivers' licenses. They have very few. I would not recommend this company.
