The staff, in general, was good and she was happy with her friends. She had a lovely one bedroom apartment. Mom's dementia progressed so she was moved to Memory Care. About the same time there was a big turnover with staff and directors. Mom's room in Memory Care was much smaller but adequate. It was a shared suite but she had a door for privacy. She was cared for but there were occasions when the staff was just sitting around and mom had to be changed or her clothes were on inside out and backwards. I would often help her in the bathroom. She was walking and socializing and going to the dining room. In November, 2024 mom became so sick she couldn't get out of bed. Long story short she almost died at the hospital due to extreme dehydration. Her blood sugar had skyrocketed and she was severely constipated. She is still with us but we moved her to a medical facility with long term care. She can no longer walk and she came out of the trauma with her dementia much progressed. This should never have happened to her at a Memory Care facility. Couldn't be the first time as they fired the executive director and director of nursing at around the same time mom got sick. Mom was at rehab for a month before they finally got back to me regarding my emails. They tried to say mom got dehydrated due to the heat being turned on. Absolutely ridiculous. They are lucky we didn't sue them for negligence.

Head nurse is not proactive with addressing medical issues and when pressed after days/weeks of no-following up or returned phone calls, she will tell you things like "well i need a day off too". Activity director seemed very nice but in the end she did not show any integrity and seemed to be full of the b.s. that's handed out like the other staff. A speckle of great workers but they were very outnumbered by the not-so-good ones. Most staff are just there and have no interest or passion for the elderly and spend a lot of time on their cell phones. Good luck if you choose this place. What you see is mostly a front. Sadly, a lot of the others places are the same.

Mom had lived in the house my dad built for her for over 70 years, so we were a bit anxious about her transition to a new "home". She loved it from day one. She was introduced to other residents who quickly became her friends. They enjoyed all their meals together. She participated in the activities, of which there were plenty. Ice cream socials, Wii Bowling, scenic rides, and Family Feud, just to name a few. Her favorite was the morning exercises. In January, Mom turned 100. We were able to have access to one of the rooms to have a family birthday party for her. Then, when the facility had their monthly birthday celebration, the staff went out of their way to focus on Mom. Cake, decorations, entertainment and even a proclamation from the Mayor of Milford. I can't say enough good things about the staff. Everyone of them did their best to be sure Mom was comfortable and happy. Mom recently passed, but before she did, everyone, and I mean EVERYONE, was there to make it a beautiful transition. Staff and residents were so attentive, caring and loving up until the very end and after. I will miss the friends I made there. I highly recommend Carriage Green for you or your loved one

The high ceilings, large windows and cheerful staff really make for a positive environment. I toured this facility with my mother and we found an impressive monthly calendar full of fun & interesting daily events (both on-site and elsewhere via their bus). They have lots of common areas for group activities like baking, knitting, card games, socializing, etc. They also have a chapel, beauty parlor, game room, full size kitchen for large/group baking projects, private dining room, library, computer room and more. The resident rooms are nicely renovated with updated appliances and handicap-accessible bathroom amenities. There is also a full rehab facility (Ahlbin Center) located downstairs, including a water therapy pool. Great facility overall! (Too bad the only other reviewer "D.D." didn't seem to get past the parking lot... The parking lot was perfectly fine last week!)

For the record, the physical therapy office in Stratford is BOSS!!!…read more But....caveat emptor (buyer beware) for the most part this organization is the PITS! OSG is they are a mid sized company that functions like the New York City Department of Motor vehicles...everyone is pretty much herded through the process without regard for the individual. I have no doubt that they actually care, but their execution is piss poor in my opinion. If you call, prepare to press about 1000 options before you are transferred to someone who transfers you to someone else who then transfers you to someone's voice mail. FUGGEDABOUT speaking to an actual doctor (HAHAHAHAHAAAA!). They are too busy. The only person who you can leave a message for is the doctor's assistant who probably WON'T call you back. I have had three experiences with this office. The first time after I broke my ankle. It was a pretty decent experience....they tried to "upsell" me all kinds of crap after diagnosing my break, which I did not need. It left me feeling pretty uncomfortable, kind of like the icky feeling you get after dealing with a used car salesman? The second time was after severe pains in my back after an exercise injury. I was unable to move and they prescribed a ton of medication and physical therapy. After repeated calls back and forth to schedule the physical therapy, I just gave up and tried to mend on my own. Why you ask? I left so many voice mails and called to schedule appointments so many times I figured the stress was aggravating the injury even more because I was so tense. I took my meds and sat my tush down. The 3rd time I went back after the back injury flared up again. I was actually able to see a doctor this time and he was great....too bad I've been trying to speak with him again (2.5 weeks and counting), about some problems with my medication, to no avail. The defenders of his phone line keep telling me I don't need to speak to him I need to speak with his assistant. HUH? The assistant I've never met, who does not return phone calls and who does not have a medical degree? I guess that person is more qualified to tell me nothing than the doctor is. In any event, it has been two weeks and every call I make is to bitch some more. Hopefully when I go back next week for my follow up, and pony up my copay I can remind the doctor that his liable for the wonderful treatment I've received thus far as my condition is further exacerbated. Rant over....find a smaller, less "busy" office, that actually cares about you and your well being. I know I am looking. They seriously need to determine if they want to be a fancy office that caters to athletes and the like or if they want to be doctors and GASP help someone....perhaps do no harm?

Office rep Stacy asked me to "drop off the paperwork" after 1 week from the surgery. My insurance faxed them the paperwork needed 4 times, but Stacy insisted that I go in. I called multiple people to see if they could do an exception since I could not drive and they all refused to help. I was in tears at this point. I went in a week later for the following appointment and I got verbally attacked by the staf. I found that very unprofessional. I was in pain, depressed because I can't move freely, concerned that my insurance was not going to get the paperwork in time, but i was never rude or unprofessional with them. I can not understand how they are allowed to treat their sick patients like that.
