I see that someone has commented on a review which was not wholly positive, advising others not to listen to it. Why shouldn't they? Every person has their own individual experience and from that, arises their own opinion.
I myself had a similar experience at Exclusively Bridal. I had checked the website online prior to visiting opening hours were advertised as 10am to 5pm Monday to Saturday with appointments only being required for evenings and Sundays. When I initially arrived at the shop on a weekday, there was a notice on the door advising 'Back by 2pm'. Unfortunately, I couldn't wait until then so I left it. Not great for people who may be visiting from out of town and who have taken the trouble to view the opening hours advertised and attend during them.
I was able to return on other weekday. The woman at the counter was pleasant enough until it became apparent to her that I had expected to be able to try on dresses there and then. Despite there being nobody else in the shop at the time, and despite the advertised opening hours, she wanted me to make an appointment and was rather insistent on this to begin with. After a bit of a discussion on the matter, she did allow me to try on and thereafter became quite helpful but the initial unwelcoming greeting had sadly by this time left a bit of a sour taste in my mouth and I decided I'd think about it and perhaps visit a couple of other shops before coming to a final decision. It is, afterall a huge expense and not one I could afford to make a mistake on if anything were to go wrong.
I did visit another couple of shops again, I 'dropped in'. One had a bride in already trying on dresses so the lady was not able to give me any attention but allowed me to browse the dresses at my leisure and made me feel welcome back at MY convenience to try on. Another shop had someone in but again allowed me to browse and advised that if I wasn't in a hurry, I could pick some out and try them on in about 15 minutes time as the other bride was almost finished.
Thankfully, most of the reviews here are positive ones so perhaps my experience is not necessarily indicative of how Exclusively Bridal usually treat their customers, perhaps I caught the lady on a bad day, we all have them. It's just a terrible shame that this one bad day lost them some custom I would have been back for three bridesmaids dresses. When a customer is not treated particularly favorably even if it is only for a few moments, that first impression counts, sticks in their mind and it is customers' individual experiences and opinions which form the reputation - which is the backbone - of any business. read more
