The owner apologized and booked us for our preferred time the next week. I got smart and called instead of driving all the way down again. I was told we were not on the schedule until the 30th, that she never scheduled and did not remember talking to us. This is supposed to be to help keep me from picking my nails and hurting myself. I paid $78 for services a month ago that still have not been rendered. When I asked her why today, she hung up on me. DO NOT RECOMMEND!!

When you can't believe you eyes in the mirror, thats when you know that your hairstylist is fantastic. My only complaint, which is very stereotypical of black salons is the wait. However,I believe Jackie actually squeezed me in, so I can't really comment too much on the length of stay there. When I return, we will see how long the in & out process takes. I like that there are Aveda products here. Jackie does natural hair blow outs. The other clients are friendly. I'm so happy that I have FINALLY found a hair stylist in Northwest Indiana. That was almost 3 years ago and I am still with Joanna and RIAH, in their new location in St. John, which is bit closer to my home. I love how my hair looks, feels and styles. All the stylists are friendly and outgoing and the front desk staff goes above and beyond to accommodate you. You are offered a beverage (from a pretty good selection) and they even will help you with your coat or offer you an umbrella if it's raining. The "RIAH Retreat" is the shampoo room where the lights are dim and quiet spa-like music plays as you get your hair shampooed, conditioned and receive a nice scalp, neck and shoulder massage. It's a fabulous part of the service and really makes RIAH stand out from other salons. Their products aren't something you can get just anywhere either. They do carry Paul Mitchell but the also carry Benniefactor and Davines which are only sold to salons and they offer exclusive training to the stylists. I've used both lines and I love them. The products are more expensive that what you can get at Target or Walmart but they last longer and my hair has never been healthier.

They have good hours and are extremely flexible. I am very much a "same-day-appointment" type of girl and they have always been able to accommodate me! They always have at least 3-5 stylists on the floor, so someone is almost always available to do a cut, color or treatment. I always get my waxes done here too, when I'm in the area. They do a great job. Oh, and they have free wifi! Whenever getting my makeup done for a special occasion, I always get Ora. She is the BEST with makeup. Whenever I go in for a facial, I get Sabrina. She is such a sweetheart and her facials are so relaxing and therapeutic. She even puts essential oils in the room to help open up my sinuses. Danya has always done a great job with my hair too. I love their deep conditions! I love how they just treat you like family here. They really get to know you and remember you once you've gone there a few times, which I love. I can go on and on about this place and how wonderful it is, but you should just go try it yourself. Once you go, you'll be hooked!
